What are the best high end over-the-ear headphones to use with an IPod? I use to think Bose was the best but have heard lately that their headphones are not so great. I'd like something with good noise blocking and bass which the Ipod can power.

Answer
sennheiser makes some great ones. bose is ok, but horribly over-priced. My Shure E2c's cost me about 100 bucks and sound about a million times better than those 300 dollar boses. Then again, my home stereo setup cost about 8,000 bucks... so I have some idea what to compare to.

how can i buy a good pc with high sound quality?

i don't know anything about the sound cards and this stuff, and I've heard that the Amplifier of the PC can affect the sound quality too, so please, if you know something about this stuff, tell me guys, cause i care a lot about sound quality since i'm using high-end headphones.

Answer
Agreed a external DAC (digital to analog converter) is the best option, and if using headphones only one with a built in headphone amplifier is also a good choice. There are many to choose from and they vary greatly in sound quality.

You will also want to buy one that can process higher bit rate music, for higher quality music is also important if sound quality is important.

I would not recommend any MP3 files, from many of the down-loadable music sites, but either burn your own music cd's at full resolution, wav or at the very least apple loss-less, or download from sites like HD Tracks that have high resolution audio music files. There are somethings to understand and consider when downloading these high resolution files, but its well worth the effort.

You can get a good DAC headphone amplifier anywhere from $250 like the Audioquest Dragonfly, to the Centrance hifi m8t which I love for the money $699. There are also many others beyond these.

Another good site is computer audiophile, which has many good resources for high resolution computer audio.

Edit; who are the idots that gave me negative responce ? I am an expert in my field and gave excellent recommendations, MP3's suck all bit rate versions, we have to get past these cheap and poor sounding downloads, and back to higher quality music files, wav, and higher bit rate music. Anyone that would give my recommendation a thumbs down is clueless.
