a good pair of bluetooth headphones?

Q. what is the best pair of bluetooth headphones i can get for less than $150, they will be used mainly for listening to music, thank you

Answer
Believe me when i say this, DON"T!!!!!! i've bought a few bluetooth headphones before and they were all horrible. The main problem i have with them is that they work perfectly fine when you're sitting down and not moving, but the moment you turn your head or walk around the connection drops or it starts to get choppy. This isn't to knock on the manufacturers, the problem lies with the Bluetooth technology which limits the power of the radio to a little more than a maximum distance of a meter. So if you include the signal passing through your body and cloths, you effectively cut the maximum operating range in half. Operating at maximum range is like trying to watch tv with bunny ears antenna when you are on the fringe of a tv tower, most of the picture is static. You would be much better off getting a decent pair of headphones for that budget
* Highly recommend bose over ear noise canceling headphones ~$150

Are the iPhone headphones considered Bluetooth?

Danielle

Hey everyone, I noticed that the headphones my iPhone 4s came with had the volume control button on them, and on the back is this little silver dot. And I tried calling people talking through these headphones, and it works. I just wonder if these headphones are considered bluetooth/ headphones and not just regular headphones.

Answer
No, the silver dot is a microphone. Bluetooth headphones are wireless, and usually they don't come in earbuds like the ones apple makes.

I got new headphones, how do I make it sound better?

Erick

I got a pair of ZX Series Stereo Headphones MDR-ZX700, My friend told me that if I want to make the quality better I have to go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Sound, and then I'm supposed to see my headphones marked as Independent Audio. I noticed that my headphones are marked as Speakers. I then click on that and go to Advanced; I changed the quality to 24 bit,192000 Hz. It sounds much better, but when I unplug my headphones and use them on my iPod Touch 4g, the quality isn't as great. My friend has Studio Monitor Series Headphones MDR-V6 and they sound equally amazing on his iPod and his computer. Please help.

Answer
Go to the music settings on your iPod and change the equalizer. If you want to hear everything like singing and great bass at the same time, use acoustic, that's my favorite. Hip hop is the best for just bass, bass booster makes it sound muzzled. Just mess around with the different equalizers. It'll keep you entertained for a while.

What parts of headphones creates bass?

Alex

I know, after studying in Science class, that creating headphones are basically made from a nail, coil, cup and magnet, or at least that is how we made our experiments. So, if increased or decreased, what makes the bass of the sound larger? (Like comparing earphones to larger headphones something has got to be bigger that increases base?)

Answer
"Headphones make bass just like any other transducer does but because the chamber is so small inside the headphone and the driver is so close to your ear, the headphone driver has to move very little air to create the sound wave that is necessary...to produce enough bass that can be heard."

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101026150756AA5hPDU

Basically what it says is The smaller the headphone the worse the base. .

Headphones under $80?

WillEe

I Need Headphones , that don't leak and have sufficient passive isolation , that when I on music , no passive noise can leak in.

I Don't Prefer Earbuds though because I don't believe that they can give me the bass I want for under $80. Though Bass is NOT all I need. I hear Pop , Hip Hop , Acoustics , and just about everything.

I don't need the best , but I Just want something which can satisfy my needs.
which to simplify :
. Preferably Not Earbuds
. Exceptional Passive Noise Isolation and no leakage out
. Good Bass but not overwhelming the mids and treble ( like the Sony MDR )
. Under $80
. I Listen to Pop , Rock , Hip Hop , and those with bass !
. Good with acoustics.

IF headphones do not meet one or more of them , please specify which :) Thank You !
Oh and I want it to be a classic design
something like the SHURE SRH240A
which I find it quite awesome. Comments about the SHURE SRH240A ?
Heard the bass isn't that good.
And Please no Skull Candy

I'm a very specific guy :) sorry

What brand of headphones are good in sound quality and under $80?

Nick

Answer
Hi Nick. For $80 you can get some pretty good headphones from Sennheiser, Grado, Shure, Koss etc.

Personally I'd recommend the Grado SR60i. Fantastic sound, and $1 less than your $80 limit You can read an entertaining review from Stereophile magazine here: http://www.stereophile.com/headphones/532

Looking for really high-bass headphones for $50 or under from FYE..?

Just Me

I'm looking for some headphones with a real "kick" to them (as high-bass and as loud as possible), and I don't want to spend over $50. I'd also prefer if they're sold at FYE (as it's the closest location to my house that sells any good headphones).

Answer
Hey, Just Me

There are a wide range of headphones available on the market right now, and for the most part, the quality of the craftmanship and sound will depend on the price range you are willing to spend. On the lower price range (less than $50), you should be able to find some pretty good headphones that will be suitable for somebody who is just planning to listen to music on their mp3 player or computer, and are not full-on audiophiles. Once you get to the medium price range ($50-150), you will get a good selection of amazing quality headphones that would be suitable for nearly everyone who is not involved with music professionally. The quality of these headphones will be suberb, should block out almost all background noise, and will be of a quality craftmanship that will last for a very long time. On the expensive end of things ($150 and up), you are going to find professional quality sets. For most people this will be a bit too much as they provide a quality of sound that is amazing, but is usually only sought after by professionals that are working on their own music (or the type of consumers who make sure that their house is hooked up with the best speaker systems on the market).

Depending on the amount you are willing to spend, my top five recommendations (from cheapest to most expensive) would have to be:

Sennheiser HD 202 II Professional

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/sennheiser-hd-202-ii-professional/

This model provides good insulation against background noise and has a solid bass range and response time. Perfect for somebody looking for a cheap set of quality headphones.

Sennheiser RS120

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/sennheiser-rs120/

These are quite affordable for wireless headphones. They have an open-ear system and a strong bass response. Because they are wireless, you don't even have to be in the same room as what is transmitting the sound, giving you ultimate range while listening to music. Very lightweight and a high quality. I have this set for using around my home.

Sennheiser HD280 Professional

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/sennheiser-hd-280-pro/

These are well into the midrange quality headphones. This set is corded, but provides much higher sound quality than the RS120. They provide up to 32 dB attenuation of outside noise, so you do not have to worry about much from background noise, even in somewhat noisy environments.

Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/beats-by-dr-dre-solo-hd/

These are on the high-end of the spectrum of headphones. They are quite comfortable and are able to produce an amazing sound quality. If you are looking for something that is "in-style" and provides you with some of the best sound quality that you can find at this price range, then these are the headphones for you.

Bose Quietcomfort 15

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/bose-quietcomfort-15/

I use these when I am playing live venues. They are some of the best headphones you can get at the moment, are very comfortable when wearing for many hours at a time (even in hot, sweaty clubs), block out almost all background noise and provide nearly unmatched sound quality. For somebody looking for professional quality headphones, or with a big budget wanting to get the best money can buy, then these are the headphones for you.

The most important thing for choosing the headphones, is the think about what you will be using them for and do not over estimate how much quality you actually need. If you are looking for something to use to and from school or just while you're hanging out, listening to music, you probably do not need top of the line Bose. Good luck, Just Me, and I hope you find the perfect set!

Apple Headphones as xbox 360 mic?

Iain

Can you use Apple headphones (with the little microphone, comes with the iphone) as a mic for xbox live? it seems like it should work, i just haven't done it yet. Or is there some special thing only the Xbox 360 headsets have?

Answer
The Xbox 360 Controller has a standard 2mm microphone jack. If my memory serves me correct your iPhone headphones should be the size of regular headphones, which is 3.5mm, unless they gave you some sort of adapter.

However, if it fits in the jack on the controller, it should work. Look at plantronics and turtle beach, they use that port, it doesn't have to be made by Microsoft.

Xbox 360 headphones?

Yurtle the

We have 2 Xbox Live setups right next to each other, and so that we dont get the sound clouded up by the TV, i'd like to purchase two sets of headphones with both the stereo sound and chat. I've heard that the turtle beach headphones are great but i dont know what model, and being a skullcandy earphones fan, i need to know if they have any decent headphones: -under $50
-capatible with an HDMI xbox setup

Answer
I personally use the Turtle Beach Earphone X1's and the sound is really excellent. Even more important than the actual sound quality itself is how it improves your gameplay. You'd be surprised how great of an advantage you have over other players when you wear Turtle Beach's and they aren't. You can hear people sneaking up on you, reloading, falling, etc. from quite a far distance away. If nobody's on the map near you, you know it's an enemy player. As far as hooking them up, you do need some sort of RCA audio output. But since you run HDMI cables you'll need to purchase the xbox HDMI av adapter. This allows you to run HDMI for your video, and have RCA audio outputs as well. Check them out on http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360hdmiavcable/.
Turtle Beach's are $60 each, and the HDMI av adapter is I believe $50 so you may be over your budget. I should mention though that while wearing the Turtle Beach headphones it blocks out practically all other noise so in reality you may be able to use the TV volume on one xbox, and the Turtle Beach's on the other and as far as sound goes both of you (players on separate TV's) should be happy. Good luck!!

Good looking headphones under $300?

I would like some headphones that are good quality but look good too.

No Beats please, everyone has them, I want something unique and more unheard of .

No Sony, Bose, Etc.. They aren't unique.

Thank you so much!

Answer
Well, ignoring the other answers entirely, I can name one brand that will suit your needs.

Grado

Here are some key points...

- They're definitely unique looking, kind retro.
- They're hand-built in New York. (Very few audio brands can say that anymore)
- They're well renown by audiophiles around the world, but almost unknown by the general public.
- Also, their sound completely blows away Bose and Beats, and 99% of other headphones out there.

They start at $70 and work their way up from there. Even their $70 pair sounds better than everything Bose and Beats make... period. Going up from their just gets better and better.

If you are just using an IPod, I would recommend the cheapest $70 pair of Grado SR60i headphones. This is because they're easier for an Ipod's weak amplifier to drive. If you want to get Grado's better headphones, I would highly recommend a headphone amplifier with that. Otherwise you won't be getting the best out of those headphones.

If you decide not to go with Grado, AKG would be my second runner up on the unique scale. Audio Technica would be my second runner up on the sound scale.

Whatever you do, avoid Bose and Beats. Which you are already doing because everyone has them. It seems that these days, everyone is deaf. Beats sound nothing more than mediocre...

Good luck

I'm looking for the best deal for high quality noise canceling headphones, any suggestions?

Answer
How much are you willing to spend? What style? Over the ear? On the ear?

There are many options, Sennheiser makes great headphones for a reasonable price along with Sony or AKGs. I personally picked up Beats by Dr. Dre because I loved how they felt on my head and the sound is quite frankly amazing. Maybe not the best in the price range but damn do you look good. The noise reduction on the Beats Studio have a sorta gimmicky noise reduction system but it does work fairly well.

Headphone amp or dac?

Sophia

Hi, Im thinking on buying the Little Dot I+ Hybrid Headphone Amplifier and replace the tube and opamp, for the dac I might get the Super Pro USB DAC 707.
My question is which one would change the sound the most, because I can buy one of them now and the other in a few weeks, I currently have a Grado Rs2i and I use them with my laptop or ipod, and listen to just flac or wav files.

Answer
DAC.

DAC Amp for 8 ohm Headphones?

Sam

I recently purchased a pair of Sony MDR-XB 1000's and have since been on a quest to find an amp that can take advantage of them. My headphones have an 8 ohm resistance, and every headphone amp that I've looked into has been 16 ohms or greater. I know that running an amp against a lower resistance can be harmful to the amp/headphone, so Is there anything I can do mechanically to increase my headset's resistance? Is there even a DAC amp that supports an 8 ohm resistance?

Answer
A good short answer to this question is:

Whatever the manufacturer's specifications may say,
almost any heaphones rated betwwen 4 ohms and 600 ohms
will be compatible with almost any headphone amplifier ever made.

I'm looking for a pair of around the ear headphones that have the same or close to the same quality as JBL's ROXY headphones. I can only spend $70 on them, but I also like to save.

Good on ear headphones for around 50$-70$?

Ryan

i prefer a closed design with clear highs and mids, bass should be good but not over powering.foldable would be nice but not needed.(please dont mention beats, skullcandy,or bose.)

Answer
I'll help you purely because you said you hate beats, skullcandy, and bose
Google HeadRoom, it's a hi-fi headphone website. They have reviews of every single pair of headphones I've ever come across, they'll tell you what's right.
In my opinion, a pair of Sennheiser HD 228 headphones would be your best bet.

Best over ear headphones? ?

Non stop pain for on-ear headphones?

I want to get Tracks HD on-ear headphones from Sol Republic; but I've read that on-ear can become painful to the head or ears. If you wear them for a few months or whatever, will they sort of...break in? And not hurt ?
Also if you have any recommendations for other headphones.

yes the headband does start to give a bit more and become slightly more flexible over time! I personally never had any issues with comfort and their headphones. I definitely recommend them!

I'm looking for some good NON in ear headphones, any suggestions?

tom

As stated i do not want any 'in ear headphones/ earphones', or those big bulky ones which have a strap and go over your head (ones like skullcandy, dr dre ones.)

So i'm looking for ones like my old pair (JVC HAF240DX Air Gumy Headphone - which i got for £5, but my budget will now go up to £35.) so ones which just go in your ear. but better as my old headphones sounded a bit dodge. So does anyone know of any better NON in headphones ?

Thanks.
How are my previous headhones inear?, and why are there so many of you annoying noobs here on yahoo answers who just look to correct or annoy people? Get a life.

Bose, have a listen to their headphones. Im sure when you hear them you will love them. Also, i have a pair of panasonic headphones and they are great as well. But please dont listen to all of the bose haters out there :)

Best headphones amongst all these listed?

Amin Arman

I wanted to buy new headphone because I love listening to music. So my main purpose is for music. Not for gaming. After some reviews I ended up with these five based on my budget and availability at my nearest local gadget store.

1. Razer Electra
2. CM Storm Ceres-400
3. CM Storm Sonuz
4. Genius Giant Hornet
5. Logitech G230

Which one of these is the best regarding great sound quality and excellent bass? I don't mind with the mic though. It's really a hard decision for me. Any suggestions are welcomed like other brands or anything. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Answer
I'd say the the g230 or sonuz would be some of the better models from that list. sennheiser makes some good midrange headsets that are worth checking out.

if you can go a little higher, the siberia v2 is one of the best models for its price

Best Headphones Price Range £100 - £150?

I am looking for a pair of good quality headphone between the price rage of £100 - 150?

Beats By Dr Dre Solo HDs (or are they not very good) (suggestion)

Audio Technica ATH - M50s? (suggestion)

Anyone got any better ones? Thanks
Got any specific headphones of choice?

Answer
At least Sennheiser HD series, also look for brands like AKG, Denon, Shure, Grado, Etymotic and Beyerdynamic. Please do yourself a favour and do NOT buy Dr.Dre/Beats/Solo, Ludacris/Soul, Koss, Skullcandy, Lady GaGa, Skullcrushers, Monsters and Bose, because they are ALL seriously overhyped and overpriced "fashion blingbling gimmicks" with a very poor durability and sound quality, NOTHING else (and those who try to claim they are good do NOT know ANYTHING about QUALITY anyway!), be them fake or not! Please do not let the peer pressure/fashion fool you any more because it is very often a waste of money.

what ear cup headphones should i get thats not expensive with good bass?

thiennguye

im looking for headphones with good bass in them. i like the beats headphones cause of their bass but it cost way too much. i heard of sennheiser but i havent use them before. any suggestion?? my price range is about 100 or 150.

Answer
At $150, the Audio Technica ATH-M50 is a fantastic headphone. When people ask for Beats alternatives, this is the headphone that's usually recommended. If you want to spend a bit less, you should check out the Sony XB700 or XB500.

Grado, Sennheiser and Shure also make fantastic headphones in your price range, but if you're a basshead, the Audio Technica or Sonys will be a better match.

Over-ear headphones under $100 (10 points for a good answer)?

Slim

Christmas is coming around and Im looking for headphones under 100 dollars to recommend to my parents. We aren't exactly rich so quality is important but don't suggest like Beats or something.
Thanks!

Answer
Allright, just did a search for some cheaper Beats alternatives, for the price your talking your best bet would probably be Panasonic RP-HTX7 headphones (And they are really affordable.), but for a bit over $100 (At least I think, I'm English so it's pounds over here.), you can get a good pair of Monster headphones that are better than Beats, really with Beats your paying for Dre's name and that about it, I wouldn't buy a pair because really there just a fashion accessory.
