I have these headphones that just go in your ears and they dont fall out!!! the brand who makes them is called "creative"
They are longer so they stick better in your ears

How do you make your ears more sensitive?

Willi096

I want to be able to hear things louder than they normally are, that would save me... 6 months of saving if I were to get loud headphones. Besides waiting for my ears to heal/get used to quieter sounds. I do let them heal a bit.

Answer
I'm confused about what you are talking about. By "healing", if you mean that you suffered hearing loss from something such a loud noise, they are not going to heal. Once you lose hearing from something like that, it never comes back. Ever. If you injured your outer ear, that will heal but it will not improve your hearing. If you intend to crank up the volume of headphones, that will surely damage your hearing. You should read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noise-induced_hearing_loss
If you want to "train your ears", that usually requires becoming a musician or to pursue an occupation that involves close, intense listening on a daily basis such as a piano or organ technician. As Sarah said, this also often occurs with the sight-impaired. The brain gradually increases the size of the auditory cortex, which is like the pre-amplifier of a sound system. This has been clinically observed and documented. It does not actually make your ears more sensitive but allows the brain to interpret the impulses generated by the cochlea - which are analogous to microphones - in a more precise manner. This takes many years, if not a decade or more, and can sometimes result in hyperacusis which has a distinct downside.

Hi I have an Olympus digital camera, that allows me to shoot video, BUT with no sound. the only real plug-ins (ports) that are on the camera are one for a small usb to transfer images, the adapter, and one that saids video (it has yellow around it). I was wondering if there was a microphone plug in available that would plug into any of these ports and therefore allow me to have sound to go along with my video.

P.S. the camera DOESN'T have a regular headphone/microphone port only what I mentioned above. Just wanted to know if there is another way I can get a microphone attached to the camera. I wouldnt mind having to buy an additional adapter. Thanks!
no there is no sound when I upload the video, bc there is no mic on the camera to pic up any sound

Answer
I do not think you can give this camera audio in anyway unless you tamper with the wires and chips inside like some Freak tech-mod people. But then again maybe I am wrong.

I guess you need to get a new cam or perhaps record the sound with an other device and edit the sound into the video on a PC or mac. But this way would take sometime and things might not turn out the way you want....

What are the best headphones for bass/dubstep?

Nina

I am looking for a pair of headphones capable of heavy bass/dubstep and general music as well. I don't want to spend more than 200 dollars and around 150 would be even better. I have heard of Beats by Dre but don't know any specifics about them or if they are good or bad with bass. Does anyone know what headphones are best for me?

Reviews from Beats owners would be really appreciated too, thanks!

If REAL quality is an issue, please go for REPUTABLE brands only such as B&W, Sennheiser (most affordable), Shure, Grado, Denon, AKG, Audio-Technica, Etymotic or Beyerdynamic. ok, i had an iPod Touch 4G not to long ago, but it got stollen along with my wallet, and i really really want another music player but i dont know which is the best, so i thought i'll just stick with something i know i will like. the iPod. But i wanna wait until the newer one comes out because i would hate to buy the 4G one right now, and then have the other one come out the very next day. anyways, how much do you think the iPod Touch 5G will cost, and if you could tell me any rumors, or anything that you might of heard or have evidence of that the iPod Touch 5G's Features will be?
Also, one more thing, if you guys know of any other music device that you think is any better than the iPod Touch, please fill me in on the exact name so i can look it up, thank you

Answer
Cowons are the best for those who want quality music on the go. SD slot, up to 32GB own space etc. Some have Gingerbread running. They are better source for listening music with demanding headphones. If you don't know what is source, amp, DAC or HD800 then you really don't need them. iTouch will be like iPhone 5 without the ability of calling.

Droid X video record mic picks up bass?

Joe

I was planning to buy a droid x cus i hear it has amazing audio recording abilities as well as a 8megapixel camera and 720p hd video. but all i can find online is guitar covers recorded but never any bass-y sounding songs or any bass gutiar covers. im a bass player and i want a phone i can have with me at all times where i can record a song i play on my bass and actually have the sound come normal sounding instead of that overpowering buzzing sound usually picked up by phone mic's. i understand phones and laptops struggle with bass sounds but i hear droid x mics are just amazing and am hoping someone knows if bass covers will be alright to do with this phone. Thanks in advance ^^

Answer
If you had an iPhone and a really good set of headphones you could get quality bass sound out that configuration. Try listening to the music on your phone through a set of headphones that are rated at 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Of course, if you are recording with your phone, that is probably not cable of recording good bass. You need to using a digital audio workstation (DAW) on a computer and be recording through a broadcast quality sound card like the ones that come with Pro Tools. Then, you are better off plugging your bass into the Pro Tools interface and recording direct rather than recording with a microphone off your bass amp speakers. Why is that? Because your bass amplifier does not have speakers in it that are capable of handing the really low bass tones. There are very few bass guitar amplifier on the market that can deliver a frequency response of 38 Hz or below which you need to properly reproduce the low E-string on a 4-string bass. If you play 5-string bass (as I do) then you need to add subwoofers to get you down to at least 25 Hz to handle that 5th string. Recording direct into to Pro Tools will give you that true low quality sound. Or, if you have a subwoofer that can deliver a 25 Hz response (like the JBL ES250P), you could mic that but, I record all my bass direct into Pro Tools and it sounds great.

I am looking for some headphones that have great sound, style, and nice noise cancellation. I am not a major audiophile but I can still tell if audio is muddled so that's what I'm looking for. I want some fashionable headphones other than Beats by Dre. I have seen a few fashionable headphones such as Fanny Wang and V-Moda, but I haven't been able to make a final decision. Style is very important to me because I want them around my neck all the time, but I am looking for quality and style. As for noise cancellation I don't want everyone else around me having a concert because my headphones are so loud. I purchased some Numark Red Waves and returned them the very next day because they had terrible noise cancellation so noise cancellation is a big factor for me. I really didn't want any major rapper headphones like Beats or Soul, but if you say that they match all three of these categories very well I guess I will have no other choice. If you know any others stylish headphones that match these categories I'll be glad to here them.

I have been thinking about Beats Mixr or Studio, but after reading around on the internet, I'm not so sure anymore due to the extreme amount of negative feedback. Anyone wanna recommend something?

Help! I can only hear through one side of my headphones on my IPad. It works well on my Nook and my other stuff besides the Apple Products that I have. I don't think it's the headphones cuz they work perfectly on other non Apple devices . Is it the IPad, and if so, what should I do. I also still have to have it updated, but I don't want to. Is this the reason why I can only listen thru one side of my headphones ?

The headphone input will not work but you probably already figured that out. If it does not have a mic jack or USB port, you will need to get an ipad mic:

What are the best equalizer settings for listening to thrash metal? I'm listening with decent headphones and can adjust the equalizer on my computer.
My sound driver is Realtek HD audio.

Answer
Metal typically sounds good close to flat equalization, you can bring down the middle a little if you want to hear some new sounds on the high and low ends but nothing to dynamic. I wouldn't add pre-amp because most metal is mastered right at the clipping range.

What would be the best settings to get the best sound quality?

I am using Dell by IDT Audio Settings. The equalizer are arranged in the fillowing order; 31Hz, 62Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, 16kHz. I have set the following db; +15db on 31Hz, +9db on 62Hz, 0db on 125Hz, +10db on 250Hz, -1db on 500Hz, -7db on 1kHz, -15db on 2kHz, -9db on 4kHz, -3db on 8kHz, -10db on 16kHz. What would be the best settings to get the best sound quality

Answer
The best settings depend on the speakers or headphones being used.

Start with all sliders at zero (centered), then separately move each one
all the way down, all the way up, and then back to the center.
Do this with each one in turn.

Listen to the effects produced and try to remember them.
(It isn't easy, especially at first, so don't get frustrated if you forget).

To make meaningful adjustments:

If you think the relative level of a particular frequency range
is either excessive or deficient, move the corresponding slider
to try to correct it.

Each slider should be kept as close to the center of its range as possible
while still furnishing the desired effect.

No slider (especially at the low-frequency end)
should ever be left at its maximum setting.

I prefer "flat" response (the equivalent of all sliders centered)
in my audio systems, and to make mental,
rather than physical, "adjustments" to the sound.

This takes some practice, but it works very well for me,
and doesn't require that there be an equalizer available.

Answer
ASTRO's new A50 headset boasts wireless functionality across all platforms right out of the box, joining the ranks of Turtle Beach, Creative, and Logitech. There are a few missing features holding it back from perfection, but at the end of the day, it's one of the highest-quality gaming headsets you can buy.

More of an evolution than a revolution, the A50's guts are mostly the same as the A40's, exhibiting minor tweaks to the chassis, but major additions in terms of functionality. Doing away with cosmetic tags, ASTRO decided to go with a completely closed-back design, boosting bass response and sound isolation as a result. On top of refining the audio, the new wireless wonder seamlessly integrates ASTRO's old wireless MixAmp into the right can. This is the biggest advantage the A50 has over the wireless A40's reliance on an external device.

Transducer Principle: Open Air
Frequency Response: 20Hz - 20,000 KHz
Nominal Impedance: 48 ohm
Weight w/o cable: 0.81lbs/363 grams
Characteristic SPL: 118 db @1kHz
Ear Coupling: Over-Ear
Connector: 2.5mm XBOX Live® chat port, Mini-USB port
Microphone: 6.0mm uni-directinal noise canceling
Power Supply: USB mini-B (USB 2.0 compatible)
Battery Life: 12+ HoursFrequency Response:35-20,000 Hx
Wireless Radio: 5.8GHz STS Module
Inputs: Optical In, AUX In (3.5mm)
Outputs: Optical Passthrough, USB Power / Voice, USB Charging Port

This above features you can get on this and the 2nd option if you look cheap one can look http://goo.gl/9AVzx this site.It will help you lot.
In case you need to pass the audio signal to another device, you're restricted to optical output; there is no 3.5mm pass-through. This is a noteworthy exclusion because it prevents you from using the A50s in a wired fashion. True, you can connect the USB cable in the event the battery dies, but you are still receiving a wireless audio signal. With this in mind, the A50s do not fall within current MLG regulations. When you consider the prevalence of the A40s among competitive gamers, it's confusing to see such disregard for their strict adherence to hardware standards.

ASTRO implemented a new EQ preset system for the A50, which at the moment is limited to three preloaded configurations. It has stated that a complete software-based customization solution will appear in the near future. When exactly is anyone's guess, but considering Turtle Beach and Creative have products on shelves with this functionality out of the box, it would behoove ASTRO to release its solution in a timely manner.

The first built-in preset, "ASTRO," represents the manufacturer's ideal settings, perceivably ramping up the bass and down-tuning midrange frequencies. "Core" seems to be the baseline EQ preset, reproducing native bass, mid, and treble response as dictated by the audio source. Finally, the "Media" preset boosts the low- and high-end frequencies, leaving the midrange well enough alone to serve as the metaphorical glue, balancing out the two extremes.
So i think my answer solve your problem.

What are some good but more importantly durable gaming headphones for about 60 dollars (you can suggest prices above 60 but my budget is 60 dollars) I have gone through 3 pairs of headphones this year alone n the year isn't even over its still the end of august my first headphones, turtles beach x32 which were 120$ broke in 5 months after I got them then I got afterglows for 60$ which broke 3 weeks after I got those then my turtle beach x12 just broke after 2 months n those were 60$ (the x12s broke since the wires have 15 ft in length they kept twisting n eventually broke through the rubber n broke the cords inside so if possible some tips on how to prevent wires from tangling) n sorry for typing so much

Answer
I'm surprised that you weren't satisfied with your Turtle Beach X12. I considered them the best gaming headset for around $60. I don't think that there are any others that are as good for the price, but if you can just spend about $15 more, you can get the SteelSeries Siberia V2. It is around $73 on Amazon right now. You might also find it even cheaper on EBay or something. It is more durable, and I do think that it sounds as good as the X12. IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR HEADSET TO BREAK AGAIN, YOU MIGHT AS WELL SPEND SOME MORE BUCKS NOW, RATHER THAN GETTING A CHEAPER ONE AND THEN HAVE TO GET ANOTHER ONE AFTER IT BREAKS. PLEASE TAKE MY WORDS, I'M TRYING TO SAVE SOME MONEY FOR YOU IN THE FUTURE. Good luck! Hope that helped you!

great product, and Shure stands by it, January 22, 2005

Like many people, I was tempted by the good reviews but reluctant to pay so much for a pair of tiny earphones. Finally, almost 2 years ago, I bought a pair.

Like all of the other reviews here state, the Shure E2c's sound GREAT. They are very balanced, and let you hear the subtle details of your music, making the music almost come alive in your head. They turn your MP3 player or Discman into an audiophile-quality stereo system.

The E2c blocks outside noise by forming a very tight seal in your ear. In contrast, "noise canceling" earphones, such as the popular ones by Bose, do not block outside noise from reaching your ear, rather they add their own electronically generated noise which is supposed to cancel out the outside noise. I've never had good results with the various noise canceling headphones I've tried; plus, they require batteries to generate the noise-canceling noise. The E2c's block noise without batteries, and without adding any artificial noise or discoloration to your music. It works very well. I especially appreciate it at gym, on the bus or subway, and on a plane. (Warning - PLEASE don't wear the E2c's while driving or bicycling or any other time that safety requires your full attention!)

The build quality of the E2c's is very good - the cord and plug are thicker and sturdier than competing earphones. For 2 years, I heavily used and abused my E2c's, especially at the gym. Literally hundreds and hundreds of times, I've plugged and unplugged them into my various MP3 players, hastily wound and unwound the cord, and tossed them into my gym bag, usually without using the protective case that comes with the E2c's. Despite the very good build quality, my heavy use led finally to a short: when the cord was wiggled in a certain way, the sound on the left side would briefly go out.

I went to Shure's website and saw that they have a 2-year warranty. I sent my E2c's to Shure for repair, hoping it would be covered by warranty, but prepared to pay if Shure felt the problem was due to wear and tear (because, in fact, it was). Two weeks later, I received from Shure a BRAND-NEW PAIR of E2c's - they decided the problem WAS covered by the warranty, and wanted me to have a new pair rather than repairing my old ones!!!

This is more than I expected, and will make me a repeat buyer of Shure products! I especially appreciate this level of service given the lackluster support I've received from so many other companies.

Answer
Your problem is probably that you don't have the right connectors. You need a convertor that will fit into the Dell's headphone style port. I have done this with devices that can be found at any Radioshack. It's cheap and simple. The product that I would recommend using can be found on link listed below. If that doesn't help I would suggest going to your nearest Radioshack and asking the sales person. Did you look at the item listed below and make sure that it's connected to either line out or speaker out.

How do I convince my parents to let me learn the drums?

Please no rude answers. Thanks.

Answer
if noise is their only concern, then you have some options. the most popular option would be to get an electric set. these can be played with headphones and are ideal for people in smaller living spaces where there might also be a lot of people. the downside, however, is the price. electric sets are about double, if not more, the price of an acoustic set. if you really want an acoustic set, there are some sound proofing options. one thing you can do is buy muffling pads. these are about 50 bucks for a set and they are rubber pads that cover and silence your drums. or, you could sound proof the room. covering the walls in old moving blankets can really dampen the sound, not to mention its a cheap alternative to putting up thick foam pads. anyways, shoot those ideas to them and hopefully that helps.

if they still say no, find out exactly why, then ask yahoo answers. if they say "too expensive", well, there are places to buy cheap drums. if they say "too noisy", well, i just helped you out with that one. there is a solution to everything!

I heard they have very good audio quality and decided to buy one, but atm I don't have too much money and can only afford to pay about 100-200 dollars. I want to buy one of those that go around the ears.

Answer
going from your preferences, the hd 558, which is a fullsize open headphones.
also, the hd429/439/449 are good fullsized closed headphones

if you can push your budget a bit or find it on sale, the hd 598 is the best bang for the buck headphones sennheiser has, and is considered one of the best its price range.

if you want sennheiser's best closed headphones, hd25-ii, but its on ear.

I have 950 dollars and want to buy the new ipod touch 8GB, 50 dollars itunes card and bones inear headphones?

Braqs

Do you thinnk its waisting money on the headphones. They are like 100 dollars.

Answer
IPod: Yes. Headphones: No. Good sound quality is worth every penny (though I bet you could find something adequate for half to one-third of the price). IPods aren't cool- you can spend much less for another mp3 player. Just a status symbol...

I'm looking for a pair of wireless/bluetooth in-ear headphones for the gym. Cost isn't an issue, I want something that's comfortable and something I can sweat on that won't short out. Any ideas? Amazon doesn't seem to have any good ones when I do a search, but any advise would be helpful.

Answer
You should get Arriva Leo Bluetooth Sports Headphone. It looks kind of funny but has so good rating from people. I am thinking about buying it too since I go to gym everyday.

I lost my last two headphones, so I am needing to buy some new ones!
Earbuds do not stay in my ears at all, even just sitting around, so I was thinking out buying the ones that go behind the ear. I don't like the ones that go over/around the head either. I use my headphones alot when I workout, so I was needing ones that wouldn't fall out easily, but ones that still have good quality. I would also like them to be under $40, please!
Thank you!

Answer
I think the best ones are from sony and they have the rubber piece that actually goes inside your ear and has edges so it stays in and needs force to come out.

How can I remove musty smell from my headphones earpads?

Alan

I workout with my beats studio sometimes( i wont do that ever again) and they smell bad. I tried covering up the smell with cologne but its still there. I tried rinsing the removable earpads on hot water with soap, no success. Is there anyway i could remove odors from the earpads? They are leather/vynil.

Answer
If they are vinyl, use bleach. If they are leather, use leather cleaner as bleach will eat leather.

i'm getting new ones and im wondering which is better. I'm planning on getting ones with volume control on them because the volume control on my nano is broken so i'm wondering will sony headphones have similar frequency range (volume) as apple headphones. also which are stronger and will last longer. Which do you think are better value i was thinking of getting these ones http://www.sony.lv/product/hpi-ex-series/mdrex38ipb.ce7 or just normal apple standard headphones, what do you think?

Answer
Sony. Ive gone through 3 apple headphones and finally.decided no more.

witch of these two headphone frequencies are better quality?

SSG.Wentwo

Frequency Response: 8 - 20,000 Hz
or
Frequency range: 100 â 18,000 Hz

witch is better quality and buy how much. (Is the one thast ebtter extremely better, just a little bit better, or around the same?

Answer
Frequency response is a bit misleading if they do not include the tolerances or deviation from the specification (the plus or minus 2 dB versus 6 dB that someone else mentioned). Also, who cares if they can produce frequencies lower than 20 Hz, since this is the low frequency limit of human hearing?

When an audio output at a certain sound pressure level (volume) increases to twice that level, this is an increase of 3 dB (decibels) over the original level. And, a decrease of 3 dB means the sound pressure level was cut in half (it sounds half as loud).

So, a difference in audible level of 6 dB is twice the 3 dB difference, or 4 times as loud or 1/4th as loud as the original volume.

In the example you gave, let's say the second frequency response (8 - 20K Hz) is plus or minus 6 dB, while the first one (100 - 18K Hz) is plus or minus 2 dB. Well, the first one might reproduce frequencies down to 20 Hz or less, but it's just not within that 6 dB tolerance. And the second one might produce frequencies down to 8 Hz if they have 6 dB of leeway. But, maybe they would only go down to 100 Hz or more when the spec is plus or minus 2 dB.

I would have to see a few more specs to determine which of these is the better headphones. And, of course, the bottom line is to listen to each set and pick the ones that sound the best, regardless of what the specs say.
