Questions about Bluetooth (headphones)?

Sam

Can other people connect to my Bluetooth headphones?

Does sound quality suffer at all because it's wirelessly transmitted?

In your opinion are they worth it?

Do they last longer than wired headphones? (hardware and kinda software/deterioration)

Could I use it with my PC (Windows 8, integrated sound card and wireless card)

Could I use it with my Nokia Lumia 800? (it has Bluetooth in options, but various sites say various things)

Thanks a million!

~ Sam

Answer
A lot of questions...i'll have a go at answering them for you...

Can other people connect to your 'bluetooth headphones'..?
You pair your headphones with the device that you want to listen to...so anyone else that pairs their headphones to the device might be able to listen...not just anybody can listen though when you pair with a device it is like giving permission.

Does sound quality Suffer..?
Yes...although...It isn't really that bad, I personally use the Sony MW600 wireless device with a set of Sennheiser HD25 cans and the sound is pretty good...(very good actually)...the MW600 lets you plug any headphone into it (wired headphone) and turns them into 'wireless headphones'...it isn't that expensive.

Are they worth it..?
It is the same with anything...how much do you value 'wireless'...it is worth it...if you use it...if you have doubts - the Sony MW600 is a good option, it gives you 'wireless' when you want it...if you don't need 'wireless' then just use your headphones normally...into the bargain because it isn't built into a 'headphone' you can pair it with your most comfortable and favourite headphones...you don't get that choice with dedicated 'wireless' headphones.

Do they last longer than wired headphones..?
No...built in rechargeable batteries have a 'lifetime expectancy' and the battery will need to be replaced at some point...it might be more cost-effective just to replace the headphones altogether...and like anything else...you do have to take care of them, listen to your music at sensible levels and pop them into a decent case if you intend to carry them about.

Can you use them with Windows 8..?
There is a problem here...I use my MW600 with Windows 7 and it works perfectly..(brilliantly)...with my Windows 8 some 'bluetooth' devices 'lag' or have a 'delay'...and it doesn't allow you to enjoy your videos or movies as much...the 'delay' - you see the action and then your ears hear it maybe a second or two after you see it...it's weird and I can't handle it...you can listen to music files, no problem though or radio stations...lag is only encountered on 'video'...If you buy from Amazon you could try the product and then return them if you experience the delay.

Can you use it with your Nokia Lumia 800..?
I honestly can't think of any reason why not...so i'd say yes.

a good pair of bluetooth headphones?

Q. what is the best pair of bluetooth headphones i can get for less than $150, they will be used mainly for listening to music, thank you

Answer
Believe me when i say this, DON"T!!!!!! i've bought a few bluetooth headphones before and they were all horrible. The main problem i have with them is that they work perfectly fine when you're sitting down and not moving, but the moment you turn your head or walk around the connection drops or it starts to get choppy. This isn't to knock on the manufacturers, the problem lies with the Bluetooth technology which limits the power of the radio to a little more than a maximum distance of a meter. So if you include the signal passing through your body and cloths, you effectively cut the maximum operating range in half. Operating at maximum range is like trying to watch tv with bunny ears antenna when you are on the fringe of a tv tower, most of the picture is static. You would be much better off getting a decent pair of headphones for that budget
* Highly recommend bose over ear noise canceling headphones ~$150

Best gaming headphones?

Tiburciano

Hey guys, I'm sick of always getting cheap headphones and ending up regretting my decision so this time I spared some money and now I want to get the best out of it... some people told me to get some astros, other people told me to buy brands like aduiotecnica or sony and buy an A40 amp so I was wondering what do you guys think is the best?

I'm a big fan of bass but of course I like to hear everything crystal clear so something in between these were nice...

Answer
hi mate
this is true.... ive been through several pairs of headphones over the last few years and they only seem to last a few months ... were as if I paid a bit more and purchased a good pair they would probally last several years instead of months
so whats a decent pair of headphones ... well I recommend the "Corsair Vengeance 1500 Dolby 7.1 USB Gaming Headset "( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Peripherals/Headsets/Gaming/Corsair+Vengeance+1500+Dolby+7.1+USB+Gaming+Headset+?productId=57346 ) .. these are a excellent set and the quality shines through being corsair
being usb they are fairly simple to install and they are extrememly comfortable to use ..... however at £77 they don't come cheap, but its better economics to buy a decent pair that will last many years than a substandard pair that will fall to bits within months
also check out the "Creative Soundblaster Tactic3D Wrath Wireless Gaming Headset for PC and MAC "( http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/Creative+Soundblaster+Tactic3D+Wrath+Wireless+Gaming+Headset+for+PC+and+MAC+?productId=58744 ) ... used in conjunction with the recon 3d soundcard or other soundblaster products these will bring any game to life, and creative have a tried and tested history in the audio world ...
out of the two pairs I would have to go with the Creative Soundblaster Tactic3D Wrath Wireless Gaming Headset .. same price but in my experience creative have the edge when it comes to audio
I hope this helps ... any questions let me know
good luck mate !

Which Headphones Are best for Gaming (PS3) That Support 5.1 or 7.1 Surround?

I would preferably like to keep it Bose branded, but I'm not sure if they make headphones that support 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. My budget is $300. I'm looking for headphones that would sound amazing with games such as "Uncharted 2" "Killzone 3" "Heavy Rain" "Dead Space 2" etc. I want to hear every bird chirp in Uncharted, I want to know when a enemy is trying to sneak up behind me in Killzone 3 by sound alone, I want to hear every scary scratch in the vents and know which direction it's coming from in Dead Space. I want something that sounds nothing less than amazing, that has something like a 360 degree hearing ratio. 5.1 or 7.1 surround.

Answer
-EDIT-
Forgive me, I have misread your question :(
I suggested a list of headsets you can go over :)
-
If you want to go hardcore, here is the Astro A40 headset.. at $200 with 7.1 Surround sound.
http://www.astrogaming.com/products/detail/4/A40-Headset/

There has been a deep rivalry/debate between Turtle Beaches and Trittons.

If you'd like Trittons (which I recommend)

Go with the AXPROs Around $150
http://www.trittontechnologies.com/index.php/products/gaming_audio_technology/ax-pro/

Or the AX 720s. Around $130
http://www.trittontechnologies.com/index.php/products/gaming_audio_technology/ax-720/

Or If you'd like Turtle Beaches. Affordable.$80
http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/ps3-gaming-headsets/ear-force-px21.aspx

Or the Px5 (With 7.1 Surround sound) $250

Can I hook up headphones together to make a home theater?

Answer
What does hooking head phones together have to do with making a home theatre?

You obviously have some plan in mind, but you've done a terrible job describing it.

I bought a home theater system that doesn't have a headphone jack, how can I use headphones oon it?

Q. I bought a home theater system that doesn't have a headphone jack, but sometimes at night when I am watching movies, it's too loud and I need to use headphones to watch. Is there some kind of converter that I can hook up to the home theater reciever to allow me to use headphones?
the headphones are wirless, and the receiver has a cable splitting into red and white. There are no open red and white sockets for them. And there is not headphone jack either.
Problem solved. I bought a different home theater system witha headphone jack and realized that there is a converter that came with the headphone system which combines both red and black cables into one headphone plug. Thanks for the help.

Answer
Interesting question and I hope I have the answer.

First though let me say that from your additional description, you cannot easily use the headphones that you have with a conventional headphone jack (1/4" 3 conductor). It sounds like you need audio line outputs to feed the wireless transmitter. Do the headphones have a volume control built into it?

If you are watching movies from just one source such as a DVD player or VCR then I would use the audio line outputs of that unit and turn the sound down on the system. If you currently use those outputs to feed your system then you would need to get a Y splitter for each channel.
This might get tricky though if your DVD player is integrated with your home theater system - then I'd ask you if you have any RCA line outputs on your system? If you do then I'd try and hook up the headphones there.

Good luck. I'm sure your neighbors will appreciate the peace and quiet!

beats by Dr. dre vs grado headphones?

F N

which headphones are best?

Answer
Define "best".

The Grado headphones will sound better than the Beats. But they're better suited for listening at home in a quiet environment since they're open-backed headphones and as such offer little to no isolation from external noise.

Beats will offer better isolation, or active cancellation if you go for the Studios. But they're not the best sounding headphones in the world. They're kinda plasticky and gaudy and, in my opinion, vastly overpriced.

You can get both isolation and good sound quality - I use Bowers & Wilkins P5 or Sennheiser HD 25-1 II which both sound great and block out plenty of external sound. Other good 'uns include the Audio Technica ATH-M50, Denon 2000, Phiaton MS400 etc etc etc

If I were you I'd check out reviews of the headphones I've mentioned on http://www.head-fi.org . I;m sure some of these reviews will mention other alternatives that I neglected to mention.

Question concerning Headphones (Skullcandy vs Grado)?

TM

Hey guys, im 18 and looking to make my first purchase on headphones. Ive been doing a lot of research and ive seen more then a few people say skullcandy is over-rated. Ive also come across many people saying how amazing the Grado SR-60i headphones are. i like to listen to various kinds of music from Zeppelin to Dubstep. I was wondering if the Grados would be good for the dubstep side of things.

(If i went with skullcandy i'd probably go with either hesh or agent)

Keep in mind im moving from your typical I-pod ear buds to one of these options, so ive never had experience with any good headphones.

So my basic question is, is Skullcandy really over-rated? and should i go with the Grado SR-60i over Hesh or Agent? Would the Grado really be good for me?
Also if anyone has any other budget suggestion im willing to hear it, because the more and more i look Skullcandy seems to be highly over hyped. Any good Sennheisers?

Thanks!

Answer
grados are great for rock. dubstep, not so much because they lack sub-bass.(unless you listen to just skrillex. his songs have almost no sub-bass). Keep in mid grados have no isolation and everyone will hear your music due to their (very) open design. The only way they could leak more is if the drivers were facing forward, and even THATS debatable (lol).

skullcandy headphones are all terribad except for the aviators and the mixmasters, which are actually decent, but still not that great.

this will help you tons (the sr-60's are in here as well):

Should I Go Vinyl or Stay In My Little Digital World?

Jacob

My Generation is the Digital Generation. But, My Favorite Band is The Beatles. I Was Thinking About Buying The New Box Set Of All Their Albums In Vinyl. So I Guess Technically I Could Listen To It The Way It Was Ment to be heard. I Don't Mind Buying A Turn Table just to listen to it. But I Never heard a Actual Vinyl In Real Life. (Been Watching Some Videos About IT Though) Some People say Vinyl is better than CD. Is that true? should i switch to Vinyl?

Answer
I have a nice turntable and collection of mint and very good LPs. Also I have a PC with audiophile sound card (ASUS Xonar Essence STX) with 192 kHz sample rating.

So, I digitized some of my LPs at 192 kHz @ 24 bit to lossless FLAC files.

I have very good class A headphone amplifier and one of the best open range headphones (AKG K701).

So, I put my headphones on and asked my daughter to switch from actual LPs to digital FLAC files without my knowledge (blind test). I could NOT tell the difference.

However, when I took control of the switch by myself I could hear the difference. It seemed to me the sound of LP was more wide and clear.

So, I figured out that blind test is more objective and there is NO difference in clarity or any other aspects of the music.

It comes down only to a perception. Some people believe that LP sounds better and nothing can change it.

do you think dr dre beats headphones would be good playing online games like black opps?

Nikita

im thinking of buy dr dre head phones i watched some reveiws on 2 of their products the solo hd and the studio headphones and what most of them said to go for is the studio ones but i wanted to know if they would be good for playing games like black opps, where it would be best if you could hear everything around you, basically like sorround headphones but with ones that i can also use listening to music on my ipod. has anybody got any got advice on which one would be good?

Answer
Talking about beats, that are mediocre headphones already, I have to say they won't do their job well at gaming.

Aside all their sound quality aspects, they have a very narrow, close soundstage. This means you won't have an edge at hearing the environment, particularly you will have difficulties differing the location of a fired shot - was it from the front left or rear left? for example.

My point is - look else where. I just don't know your budget.

The Audio Technica ATH-A700 sounds great and I really like that glossy black on it f.e.

BTW, for gaming, you will benefit from a nice soundcard too. Nothing overcomes the ASUS Xonar Essence

Are there any durable headphones for intense exercising (in my case; Basketball)?

Richard

I would like to listen to music when playing basketball on a public place outdoors. I need headphones that wont break when running and jumping. I'd also like to know if there are any music devices (mp3,Ipod) that are designed for exercising.

Answer
All I can think of is the headphones that have earplug pieces. The headphones that hug your ears will be hard to keep around your ears when doing highly active movement.

Some places do have Sports Headphones though that wraps around your ears and head, I know a brand called Sennheiser makes a pretty good pair.

They are pretty much the most amazing sounding headphones ever, and they have this weird soft rubber earpiece that blocks out alot of outside sound and they stay in pretty well.

They're reasonably priced too: $15.00
Places like Target, Staples, and FYE sell them

In the wire for headphones...red, yellow, and white stand for right, left, and common.?

Chris John

I dont know which is which thhough

Answer
I assume you have a headphone only. No microphone, nothing to do with video, etc. There are unwritten common colors, but depending on where it is made these may not be adhered to. I assume you have three wires and want to determine how they are wired. If you cannot get to where the wires connect to the driver in the headphone, you can take a battery, say an AA (1.5v) and drive what you think are the left two with the voltage going through a resistor. If you are correct in selecting a proper pair, you will hear a scratching sound in the correct side.

The proper way to determine the resistor is to determine the sensitivity of the headphones (usually listed in mV), and devide the battery voltage by half that level (half for additional safety). If you do not know what the sensitivity is, start with a 1k resistor.

So you would go positive side battery to red, negative battery through resistor to other color (I would try yellow first), while listening to the headphones. If you do not hear anything try white instead of yellow. If you still do not hear anything, reduce the value of the resistor. Note it will only make noise when you touch the wires. Do not touch and hold the power on. Headphones only make noise on change of voltage so you need to keep making and breaking contact in the wires. If you hold the power on continuously you may overheat and ruin you headphones.

Best over the ear headphones to workout?

Claudio

So I was thinking in buying beats studio or executive but I saw a lot of bad reviews online so nevermind that but I really want headphones to lift weight and jog in. I'm sick of my ear buds. Anyone know good quality headphones other than beats by dre?

Answer
There is a new Bose workout line. Bose is probably one of the best headphone companies.

Good workout headphones?

Albert T

I workout quite a bit, and I love listening to music while I run, lift, or kick Bob the Punching dummy in the groin.

The problem is, I seem to run through headphones very quickly. I've never dropped them, stepped on them, put then in contact with water, yet my constant running and jumping around seem to have damaged the connectivity of every single pair of earbuds I use.

So in short, I am looking for a pair of durable headphones designed for heavy wear and tear from working out. I'd prefer they be earbuds, but I'd honestly take anything that will last longer than three months for me.

Thanks.

Answer
sony active sport in-ear headphones xba-s65
these are really light and the cord loops back over your ears. They are sweat-proof and you can rinse them off after every workout. $80.00

aftershokz mobile
your ears are completely uncovered and the sound is pumped through your cheekbones. The behind-the-neck design keeps them locked in place so they won't fall off from bouncing and they actually look pretty cool. $63.00

yurbuds ironman inspire pro
these ones really stay in your ear, at all costs. They're really lightweight, and allow for external sounds to come through which is good for hearing cars or other hazards. They're water resistant and has a special button right on them for skipping tracks. They're one of my favorites by far. $48.00

shure se215
These are more expensive but may be worth the money if you can afford it; they have the best sound quality of most any other headphones around. It's crystal clear! The cord on these also loop around the ears. It has outer sound isolation, and overall are great quality. $100.00

sennheiser pmx 680i sports
These have a great built in bass and have amazing sound quality. There is more of a range between loud-quiet and are really lightweight. They have built in volume controls right on them and are water resistant. They let in a little bit of outer noise, which is good for hearing any hazards around. They will stay in your ear while giving you a great sound. $53.00

What kind of studio monitoring headphones should I buy?

SoldierDuc

I wanted beats by dre studio at first. But many audiophiles hated them. I am considering Shure, Beyerdynamics ATH m50 bose AKG and Sennheiser. Which headphones are better than beats? I listen to normal music such as lady gaga Taylor swift etc etc. And I would really want the bass to be thumping. Mids be sharp and crisp. My budget is around 400-600(usd) . Try to include active noise canceling and the feature of switching to hearing-people-talk-without-taking-out-headphones thing. Thanks a lot! Please state the model when you choose a certain brand! :)

Answer
Probably the best for your money would be the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II or the Audio Technica ATH-M50. Neither of these headphones have active cancellation, but they're both closed-back headphones that cut out most background noise. I own the Sennheisers and they're great for commuting on a noisy NYC subway. The Sennheisers cost $200 and tick all the boxes as far as sound quality is concerned. They're also extremely durable as they're made for pro audio use. The ATH-M50 costs about $150 and, while I haven't heard them yet, I see that they've been getting fantastic reviews and recommendations as Beats replacements from the headphone addicts on http://www.head-fi.org

For a bit more money, you could check out the $300 Bowers and Wilkins P5. These are my current favorites - they're just a little bit more comfortable than the Sennheisers, and sound just a little bit better. Plus they look sexy too :)

That's as far as I go for now. I know you said your budget was $400 to $600, but I haven't listened to anything in that price range yet. To be honest, if I had your $600 to spend, I'd get two pairs of headphones - one over-ear, and one in-ear. Sometimes you're in the mood for one, sometimes you're in the mood for the other.... The Bowers & Wilkins P5s at $300, and the Shure SE435 also at $300. Sorted.... :)

How can I get sound to my headphones or speakers from a monitor that doesn't have a headphone jack?

Answer
Assuming the monitor has built in speakers and is plugged into PC sound card, you will need a splitter that plugs into same port monitor speaker was using. Now plug monitor speakers into one side of splitter and headphones into other side. There is possibly a headphone jack on the front of your PC.

How important are Hz and Khz for headphone sound quality?

GeorgiaTec

What should I be looking for to tell how good the sound quality is on a pair of headphones? Thanks

Answer
Specifications won't tell you much. The range of human hearing is generally accepted to be 20Hz to 20Khz, so your first job is to filter out any headphones that can only handle 5Khz - 10Khz or something daft like that. The only other specs worth looking at are the impedance (how easy the 'phones are to drive) and sensitivity or efficiency (how loud they go for a given signal level). If you're using an mp3 player without a separate amp, look for impedance lower than 100Ohms. For sensitivity/efficiency, higher means louder. 95ish and above would be fine.

That's the numbers taken care of. Now the important stuff - judge the headphones by listening to them, not by the numbers. Wouldn't want you rejecting the Sennheiser HD800 because their impedance is too high....

Best headphones for under $300?

Evan Lawle

I find it difficult because I quite literally listen to nearly all styles of music; and as many headphones tend to favor certain genres over another and I don't have access to a store with a wide selection of headphones I wanted to see what others would say. I love high quality but won't spend a ridiculous amount of money as I primarily use my iPod with a headphone amp. Please only comment if you know what you're talking about, haha thanks!

Currently own AIAIAI TMA-1 headphones, a few others I'm considering:

Skullcandy Mixmasters

Sennheiser HD 598 and HD 280

Bose QuietComfort 15

Beats Studios

Bowers & Wilkins P5

Lower-end Grado Headphones

Thanks!

Answer
I currently own the Grado SR80, the Sennheiser HD25-1 II, the Bowers and Wilkins P5, and the Shure SE530. I also have the Grado iGi, and the MEElectronics A151, but they're cheaper headphones that I just use for working out.

If I were you I would immediately cross the Beats, Bose, and Skullcandy off the list. Of the ones that remain, the first thing you need to do is decide whether you need an open- or closed-back headphone. Most of my listening is done on the road, in noisy trains, and in noisy school libraries, so I tend to lean toward closed-back headphones or IEMs. Although I would love to get the Sennheiser HD800 at some point....

If you want open headphones, the Grados are lovely. I haven't spent much time with the Sennheiser 598s, but I used to have 580s and absolutely loved them. I think I'd have to spend a bit of time comparing and weighing up the differences in comfort, price, and yeah, even styling. The 598s look a bit gaudy to me...

If you want to go closed, no competition - I'm totally in love with the Bowers and Wilkins P5. The Sennheiser HD25-1 II were my commuting companion for over a year, and they treated me great, but sometimes I got the feeling they were starting to shout at me just a little bit. The Bowers and Wilkins, while still just as detailed, are a much smoother sounding headphone. I can easily listen to them all day with no fatigue at all. They sound great straight out of an iPod Classic, even better with an FIIO line-out-dock feeding a Headroom amp. They're supremely comfortable, very well made, and absolutely beautiful.... If I were you I'd try the HD25s though - for $200 they're great headphones.

Hope some of this helped!! Whatever you end up getting, enjoy 'em...

Best headphones under 100?

Enishithec

I am looking for a pair of headphones with great sound quality and looks under 100 bucks.
Something like the Dr Dre Studio beats. (Looks and quality wise)

I was thinking of getting the Sony MDR-V6.
Any suggestions?

PS: I hate skullcandy, they look great but are cheap and suck.

Answer
There are a lot of choices for headphones under $100. I would definitely recommend the Sennheiser models over the Dr Dre. model. Sennheiser's have great sound quality with punchy bass and smooth mids/highs, and they have excellent build quality. I have tried many models of Sennheisers and have always come away impressed. They have a few new models that look nicer than standard headphones (such as the HD-438 and HD-448), but for the most part Sennheiser design is pretty conservative.

At retail prices, you can spend around $100 for a mid-range Sennheiser model, all the way up to $1,000+ for their top of the line model. At eBay or other online retailers, you can find them for much cheaper prices.

If you want a slightly flashier design, the new ZAGG Audio ZAGGphones are a good choice. They are also very nice sounding, with solid bass response and a comfortable fit. The sound quality is not quite as nice as the Sennheisers, but they are less expensive.

I have been using my Sennheiser HD-280 Pro headphones for over 2 years now and haven't had any problems. A full review of my experience with these headphones and the ZAGGphones can be found at the links below.

Suggestions on Headphones about 100$?

I was planning to buy the sony xb500 or the sure srh240 ones, i tested the first ones and i really loved their sound quality, about the sure, i just have seen them on the internet, but i've never tested them. Which do you think are the best?, could you suggest me other headphones with an average cost of $100 and great audio quality? I will use them with my Xperia, an iPod and my PC.
Thanks in advance

Sennheiser HD-280 PRO Headphones are great and you should be able to find them for about 100 dollars.

I'm looking for some Beats by Dre pro headphones. I only want to spend 50-200 dollars on them. I need a place to buy legit Dre's and not fake or counterfeits.

Answer
there are much better headphones out there than dr dre's, depending on the kind of music you listen to. If you love bass-heavy, articulated music (rap and hip hop mostly) then the Dre's are alright, but they have an incredibly muddy bass (makes the bass seem heavier, but less articulated), otherwise you should look at some of the following, especially considering your price range:

these are over-ear headphones (full sized)
Bose OE's
My review: Very good mid-ranges and trebles (higher singing sounds), bass is a little muddy, they don't look as great as the Dr Dre's but they're really legit. They're noise canceling (to an extent) and for on-ear (rather than over-ear cup-shaped headphones) they're really comfortable. they're very portable, and best for indie/alt rock, rock, pop, but there are better options for rap, hip hop and other bass heavy genres.

Marshall Majors
Indie in style, these are very, very good for the price. I've only known of one pair to break, and they hold their own in any genre of music. They do get somewhat uncomfortable after wearing them for a while, but they do a good job at canceling outside noises and keeping your own music in.

now if you're willing to spend $200 on headphones, you cannot, CANNOT possibly ever ever never please dont ever buy the Dre's over these. these are possibly the best headphones i've ever been blessed to try out for a while.
they're called the AIAIAI TMA1 DJ Headphones. They look amazing and professional, they hold up against anything, the sound quality is amazing -- please, if anyone buys the Dre's over these they're absolutely stupid. They're extremely comfortable and light, but sturdy. The cups block out most outside noise and keep your own noise contained. The bass is clean and crisp, while the mids and highs are bright and very articulated. They were made for DJ's but I dont know a single non-DJ who wouldn't be amazed by these. they are pricey, but they're worth it.

as for In-Ear headphones (buds, etc) here's some good ones:
Klipsch Image S4's
these are on the cheaper end of things, and you may be able to tell (somewhat) with the quality of the cord. If you have oddly shaped ears, the bud that they come with may not fit very well. These are definitely some you want to go on-site to buy, that way you can try them on or at least look them over. The sound is unbeatable. Even the bass is damn good, which is impressive for buds. the mids are really nice and everything lines up well in terms of the sound. Like most in-ear headphones, they block outside sound very, very well, and for $50-$80, they're extremely impressive.

I was going to post some more in-ear headphones, but out of all the ones i've tried out these were the best. They beat the in-ear Dre's by a mile, in terms of sound and design.

hopefully i've swayed another Dr Dre customer, but just in case i havent...

here's the Beats Solo on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Beats-Solo-Headphones-ControlTalk-Black/dp/B002P8LZ36/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1321921145&sr=1-5

those are really the only ones under $200
mind you that Dr Dre Beats has a contract with every single seller. The distributors are not allowed to sell these products under a certain mark, so counterfeits are unavoidable if you want some of the more expensive models. you should also look for "refurbished" models -- this means that the headphones had a defect and were sent back to the company and replaced by a new pair by the original owner. If anything, buying refurbished is better -- your headphones get checked by a technician twice, rather than once. You get them for cheaper, and there's absolutely no difference between your set and the brand-new set other than the price and how many times they've been sold.
(legally, the company must sell them for less because they have been returned, ergo they are "used" when really the defects are usually like "the headphone jack was detached from the cable when i bought it")

good luck!!

Cheap Headphones with Good bass?

PsychoSkul

What are some cheap (im talkin' under $50) headphones that deliver amazing bass quality to where my headphones will fall off from a huge bass drop in a song......Okay not that extreme but you get my point. I heard Sony has headphones with great bass quality, but are there any other brands that I should be aware of? Thank you in advance.

Answer
If you have absolutely no care for sound quality, the Skullcandy Skullcrushers will do you fine, but don't expect them to last too long.

If you want something a little higher in the sound department, try to find the Sony MDR XB500 under your budget, I believe you can find it cheap on Amazon.

Headphones with great bass and quality, cheap?

John Jacks

My Parents won't let me get the more expensive kinds (and i kinda dont want them cause they are way to flashy) so they would get me headphones under 30 bucks. Any suggestions? I cant find any on amazon so are there any other websites?
Sorry, thanks for the answer but i meant over the head Headphones. I like those better because when i get earbuds, they always seem to break.

Best Bass Headphones w/mic?

Matt B

I want to get headphones for my cell phone. It must have a mic built in. I am interested in bluetooth models as well as wired models so preferably if you could give me the best of both and how they compare to each other that would be great. I do have somewhat of a budget. The most i'm willing to pay is around 300. From research and what i have heard, Beats audio sound like a good idea. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know. Also how do the Beats bluetooth models compare to say the Beats Solos or Studios. Thanks in advance for all your help.
I am aware that there are headphones with better QUALITY then Beats. Clearer bass, MIND YOU....i LIKE that overly loud thumping. I listen to Dubstep and want to feel the vibrations. Furthermore, i like over the ear designs if that helps.

which jack to plug headphones with mic into?

Grey Night

im using my headphones with a mic that also plugs into my ipod, can i use this on my computer? if so which jack do i plug it into, the microphone one or the headphones one? thanks ..

Answer
You can't use them for that purpose.

The headphones and mic that come with the iPod or iPhone share the same stereo jack. Which means you could use them as headphones on the PC, but the mic function wont work.

To use them as headphones, plug them into the Line Out, which is normally green.

buy a nintendo 3ds or solohd beats by dr dre headphones?

Q. not sure what to get, i have to choose!
could you give me reasons for/ against each option?

thanks:)

Answer
You should get the 3DS.

Because you can play music (even with the system close).

You can LOWER the VOLUME of 3D so it does NOT give you headaches for the first time in your life (if you're the kind of person to ever get headaches from 3D, otherwise just turn the 3D all the way up).

And you can also turn the 3D OFF Completely.

And 3D is good for working out your eye muscles & brain to keep them in shape as shown in this link:

http://www.aoa.org/x17309.xml

And the Nintendo 3DS has downloadable 3D Music videos from today's American music artist which I have already downloaded the 3 free 3D Music Videos to watch anywhere and the 3DS has 3D "Blue Man Group" video and College Humor (in 3D) with the FREE "Nintendo Video" App that you can download (but its 4 3D Videos at a time and they replace them once in a while) and you can download cheap downloadable 3D Apps & 3D games costing from 99 cents to $5.99 and the Nintendo 3DS also has FREE downloadable 3D Apps & 3D Games, which I have already downloaded 3 Free 3D Apps and I have downloaded 2 Free 3D Games and the 3DS has a 3D Camera and I have already used the 3DS 3D Camera to take 3D photos and I have uploaded some of my 3D footage online using the Nintendo 3DS's Web Browser to upload my 3D footage online and I have used my 3DS Web Browser to also download other peoples 3D footage from the Internet on my 3DS Web Browser and I have view all sorts of 3D content on 3D Websites online on my 3DS's Web Browser and I have use my 3DS 3D Camera to play 3D Augmented Reality games as well and it's all in 3D without the Glasses using the 3DS 3D Camera and It has beautiful 3D HD graphics that equal to that of a 3D HD version of Wii Graphics and I have Streamed 3D Videos Online on my 3DS in the eShop and I have also Watch 3D Trailers for upcoming 3D movies coming to Theaters in 3D and I have done all of this in 3D Without the Glasses.

So you can pay $169 for a Nintendo 3DS and buy the greatest Games ever & all in 3D Without the Glasses like Petz Fantasy 3D and Cooking Mama 4 and Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove 3D and Nintendogs + cats and Zoo Resort and Cave Story 3D and Kid Icarus and Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 using the MOTION SENSORS to play the game like if you were turning a real steering wheel to turn the Kart left & right and also play such other 8 GB 3D Games like TheatRhytem Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts 3D and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and Crush 3D and Shinobi and Animal Crossing and Rodea the Sky Soldier and Michael Jackson: the Experience 3D and Ridge Racer 3D and Super Street Fighter 4 3D and Monster Hunter 4 and Golden Sun 4 and Star Fox 3D and Zelda 3D and Sonic Generations 3D and Tetris 3D and Resident Evil: Revelations and Tekken 3D which also has the 3D Movie Tekken the Movie 3D in it to watch and also play other 8 GB 3D HD games as Spider Man 3D and 100% of the 3DS games are in HD 3D Without the Glasses.

And the 3DS pixel density is MUCH sharper than an average HD TV.

And they're making Angry Birds 3D as a downloadable game.

And the 3DS has DLC (Downloadable Content) like Xbox Live for a bunch of 3DS games to add content to the game later on for Free.

And 1 of the Free 3D Apps I have downloaded was Netflix.

And Netflix is getting 3D Movies in the next few months, so for $169 you can watch 3D movies on the free Netflix App on the 3DS in 3D Without the Glasses.

And 100% of the people who have said that they get headaches from 3D, have said that after up to 1 to 2 weeks of using the 3DS they NO LONGER get headaches anymore and that they now play with the 3D all the way up 100% all the time, non-stop.

But I have never had any problem with the 3D at all, but each person has a different experience with the 3D ON during the first week.

And you can now pay to download 3D & 2D Videos on the 3DS.

And the 3DS is getting Hulu Plus as a Free downloadable App and Hulu already has 3D Content.

and you can check this Link below for more 3DS Games:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_3DS_games

P.S. You will want to check these sites out for the Web Browser's 3D ability:

http://www.3ds-screenshot.com/

http://gamecrunch.co/3dscreens/

http://3dporch.com/

http://3dspaint.com/

http://www.klutz.com/static/nintendo/n3ds_mm9.html

http://www.instructables.com/3ds/

And the 3DS with a Wi-Fi Update can RECORD 3D Videos in 120 fps (60 fps per camera).

What are the best headphones for 3DS?

NSM

I've been looking at headphones for awhile, but I still haven't found any perfect for my 3DS. I want a headset (or ear buds!) that is comfortable to wear, has crystal clear sound (or close to that), and is able to make the volume much higher since the 3DS has very low sound. Most importantly, I want the headphones to be innovative to my experience so that I get sucked into the video game I'm playing easily.

If you know any headphones that do anything I wrote above, could you suggest them for me? Thanks so much!

Answer
sony makes good headphones, i like these: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-Q68LW-Clip-Headphone-Retractable/dp/B000PCF7A6/ref=dp_ob_title_ce they have good sound & clips on the ears good. there's buttons on the side to wind up the wire like a tape measure

there's not really any headphones that makes the 3ds sound louder i've looked (even in line volume controls don't work). but if you get headphones that go over the ears & block out sound then you can hear it better. these are really good but they cost a little more than earclips: http://www.sears.com/nakamichi-780m-over-the-ear-headphones-metallic-edition/p-05728684000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1 these have alot of good reviews and they have good bass. you can use the mic button as a remote for the 3ds if your listening to music too
