I take my music very seriously and want to hear everything that the mic picked up in the studio. I have Beats Mixrs and they sound good to me but apparently there are better because i look up beats quality and all I get is they're over rated pieces of crap. So i want to know what headphones to buy that are comfortable stylish and sound clear as possible i want to hear the sound like it should be heard no holding back loud and proud. For under 300$ of course.

I have been looking at the Skull Krushers pro by skullcandy but as i have heard from many others, you are just paying for the brand. So without going crazy price wise, what are some of the best quality over ear headphones? I'm willing to pay anything under $300 preferably under $200. Thanks.

The Sennheiser RS 180 wireless headphones use an uncompressed transmission system called Kleer, so you get the full fat sound that you would expect from a wired headphone. With this new technology why would you opt for compressed audio? 2) The second point is, Sennheiser never fail to deliver on audio quality. You only have to read a few reviews to get a feel for their quality as a brand. And these headphones are no exception, the audio quality is just spectacular, no hiss, no noise, no fuss. There's a volume dial on top of the left ear muff. The higher one is for the volume and the lower one is for game chat and game volume so maybe make sure you turn the top dial up a little and adjust the other one however you need it

I know some people have started as soon as they found out.. But I am not going to walk around with headphones on my belly for 9 months.. lol. So what do you think is a good month to start playing it music at?

But I do know classical music, and ignoring periods such as the romantic, i'll just name some wonderful composers.

Chopin- famous pianist

Vivaldi- The four seasons is probably his four most famous pieces, everyone who knows classical knows these.

Bach- Of course Beautiful sound

Beethoven- of course, you can't know classical without listening to him. A Genius for sure Defiantly try "Moonlight Sonata" it is simply gorgeous

Pachelbel- Canon in D major is a stunningly performed piece, wonderful and it has a variety of emotions that are felt when listening to it

Mozart is another famous one, I love what he has composed

"Gavotte" Is a fun peice I enjoy playing, I do not remmeber the composer though, so you might have to look that one up online.

They also have more "Modern" Pieces that are still played with all the fun woodwind, string and brass Instruments.

Try "Pirates of the Caribbean: The curse of the Black Pearl Theme" its beautifully done.

"Crocodile Rock" is another, a fun joyful piece

Hope you find some music you enjoy! And there are many out there, I just named some that are more often known to people.

Would Beat by Dre headphones work well for listening to classical music?

It depends on how and when you like to listen to your music...

If you enjoy your music while you are commuting then you need a closed back type of headphone that offers decent sound isolation (stops external sound from getting in - and headphone sound from getting out )...

If on the other hand you only want the ultimate experience from your headphones while you are relaxing at home then you should consider an open-backed headphone...this offers a better more enjoyable listening experience (the Grado SR60i or SR80i are worth test driving)...The only problem with an open-backed headphone is that other people can hear what you are listening to and the headphone is best used in a 'quiet environment'...it's a great experience though.

Personally I collect headphones and have a set for home use and other sets for portable use...I really enjoy my music though and it's a worthwhile investment for me.

Really i'd do some more research, it should help you get the best value for your money - try reading articles in the head-fi link and you'll get some of the best advice out there...

Were moving soon to Pennsylvania together during christmas, I want this present to be very special. music is a big part of his life but he's not into going to concerts or any of that. I have to answer this one because I am celebrating the 6 months together with my boyfriend too this December and I have had some trouble with picking gifts too... :)

So, from one very much in love girl to the other, I could recommend that you think about what nice things you can give him that you know he is probably going to use, look at, have in his hands or under his eyes in the months to come pretty often. Like this you'll give him something he loves and that allows him think about your love as often as he wants.
I am in a long-distance relationship right now, so, my present is going to be a digital photoframe (with calendar and organizer gadgets) so that my boyfriend can go through our pictures easily whenever he wants (he always tells me he loves to do that on his computer! <3) and he can also stay organized while he's in grad school. I lost my old headphones some time ago and decided to replace them with higher quality ones. I don't care about trendiness or style, so please don't recommend them just because they sold well or look cool. I am looking for IEMs that have the following features,

Requirements
Noise insulation, exceptional sound quality, and durability
Preferences
IPod control, a good warranty, availability in black, and possibly multiple drivers

Go search the internet about the headphone's brand and specs (specifications).If the headphone's brand's name was already removed or faded, which you can find at the outer part of the item, and you don't know have any clue about the item you bought, check its outer parts, like a battery slot. If it doesn't have a slot or a compartment, then you have no choice but to go to the little difficult part,

One more thing i heard that under Windows 8 i can install free Office 2013 basic version where i can download it.

Since you just upgraded your Operating system to windows 8, many of the drivers are not compatible.

To update your drivers, go to your computer brand website and under support, you should find a place to find and download the drivers to your computer model. Under the audio tab, you can download the drivers for the sound card.

Leaking is bad. When you're on the train, and everyone around you can hear exactly what you're listening to, that's leaking. Two notoriously leaky headphones are the standard iPod buds and the Beats Studios.

You are limiting your choice by saying only Sennheiser.
They do make some good headphones, but none come to mind that are closed, good quality and below that price point.

The only ones I can think of are the HD280pro and HD215, but I've never liked those particular models much at all.

I'd say get something like the Shure SRH840. It really sounds like the perfect headphone for you. I reckon it sounds better and it is definitely built better than anything Sennheiser has at that price.

Others to consider: AKG Q460, Koss TBSE1 or Audio Technica ATH-M50.

I'm currently searching for a good set of headphones with amazing bass. A few friends told me to get Beats by dr.dre or to search for merchandise from bose. I'm not too sure though.

Neither brand is any good... their marketing just makes people think they're good.

Name one professional studio that uses Bose or Beats and maybe you'll have me convinced. That won't happen though... some brands that the real world of professional audio uses would be as follows...

All of those brands are excellent, and all over BETTER headphones for LESS than both Bose and Beats. With Bose and Beats, you pay for their advertising campaigns and celebrity endorsements, not for quality headphones.

For the brands I mentioned, you pay for quality headphones... not advertising. My personal choice would be Shure's SRH440 at $100. It's one of their least expensive pairs of headphones, yet I would choose it over ANY Beats or Bose headphones... hands down... period. Audio Technica's ATH M50s at $160-ish are OUTSTANDING for the money, so they're a great choice there. Just like Shure, they are far superior to anything Beats or Bose have to offer.

Those are two pairs of headphones that I believe are in your price range... so check them out. You will be much happier with a real pair of headphones over the toys handed out by Beats and Bose.

If you don't like the two I've suggested, go ahead and google any of the brands I listed and you will find equally high quality products at fair prices without advertising budgets attached.



Oh... and btw, I mean no offense to the other answer. He means well, so please don't take my answer personally.

The Difference is that the on ear ones don't give you as much quality because there built to be small and the over ear cover you whole hear and can give you better sound quality (and of course the fact that the on ear are in your ear and the over ear are covering your ear). I'd suggest the Sony Stereo Headphones: MRD-XD100 or the MRD-XD200.

I want it for skype and other things as well but nothing happens when i plug it into the headset jack or microphone jack. When i try to set it up it just uses my laptops terrible microphone. Right click the speaker icon in your task bar. Select "Recording Devices". Click the device you want to use and select "Default Communications Device" to have your laptop use that instead of another device.

How do you hook a headphone/mic to the computer?

I want to use one of those headphone/mic setups for voice chat on the MMO I play periodically, but don't know how, or if you can, hook it up to the pc.

You just plug it in. If you are using it for chat during games I recommend getting a headset with a USB connection - the Logitech ones are very good and reasonably priced.

Using a headset+mic with USB connection means you can still have ingame sounds set to speakers while voice comms comes through headset - or pipe both to headset, but have music playing through the speakers.

Once connected, you can swap sound device in windows by going to the speaker-volume icon - right side of your start bar - right-click > adjust audio properties > audio > default device=headset. then open an application. go through and change again to pick speakers and open the other app. (Windows won't change the sound output device for an application until you close and relaunch so you can setup which sounds to pip through speakers/headset)

The other option is having a headset that connects to your sound-out and mic jacks on your soundcard, but this means getting in behind there every time you want to swap sound between headset and speakers - which becomes a pain very quickly.

As for the headphones? I'm not entirely sure,...but, the higher the price, more likely those will be a better set for you... The most expensive headphones I've bought were around 15 dollars, haha. They usually mess up..

I need a decent new pair of headphones. My priority is Noise Leakage, I like my music quite loud, and I am sick of having to turn it down for the benefit of other people. noise canceling phones have a small microphone in them that detects what kind of noise is around you, and generates a tone 180 degrees of that. it kind of cancels out the noise, but it also makes kind of a 'white noise.'
if you don't want 'phones that disturb people around you, you'll most likely want some closed ones, instead of open ones.
Sennheiser's a great brand, and for closed phones in the low price range, they have the hd201, hd202, and hd280 pro. the 280s are all around better, better quality, sound quality, noise cancellation, insulation, and comfort, but they're also more expensive. Comparing the 202s to the 201s, the 201s have a tiny bit better quality, and are more balanced. the 202s are more bass-heavy, and sound better than the 201s when plugged into an amp or receiver.

Beats are very overrated...my Klipsch earbuds have better sound quality and bass resonance than Beats. Klipsch Reference ONE on-ear headphones are incredible, as are Sennheiser HD 203, 428, 429, and (my personal favorite) 518 headphones.

What do I need to play my computer through a floor speaker?

I can already hear the computer through headphones, but would like to be connected to the floor powered speaker that I use as a monitor.

You will need an amplifier. Your computer doesn't make a strong enough signal to drive the big floor speaker to any decent volume, so you will need a small external amplifier. Radio Shack should have something that would work, or you could try one of the big retailers such as Circuit City or Best Buy.

Below is a link to a Sherwood receiver from Radio Shack at a price of $90. That's the cheapest price I could find for an audio amplifier at Radio Shack. You might also try looking for a small amplifier (at least 10 watts) at a yard sale or flea market. You should be able to find something decent for $25 or so.

How do I prevent music from my pool area from bothering my neighbor?

I have a backyard pool an enjoy listening to music while using it.
I do not feel I am playing it loudly, but, I just got a complaint from a next door neighbor. This is the first in six years. Does anyone have ideas about how to keep the music in my yard so my neighbor and I can live in harmony???
I do occassionally invite them over.

Headphones might be fine when I am alone and not in the water but are not a good option for a group or when in the water.

I tend to play a broad variety of music and I actually prefer not to play any one artist or genre.

I am most interested in success stories of actual, functional methods of limiting the transfer of sound to surrounding areas.

Any time that you or anyone else plays their music loud enough to be heard by neighbors, it can represent an unwelcome intrusion and disturbance. So you are basically imposing your music (noise) on them. Why don't you be nice and use headphones?

Q. Recently I took up jogging and have been in need of sport headphones seen as they are designed to stay in place with movement. I have heard that Sennhiser makes a great sport headphone however they don't come cheap. I have also heard that MeelElectronics M6 are and inexpensive and comfortable headphone but beyond that i know nothing. Any suggestions? They don't have to isolate or anything like that, I just want them to stay in place and be comfortable to wear.

The m6 ear headphones are good to buy if you're looking to use it for jogging. It's very secure and comfortable so you won't need to worry about the earphones falling off while you're jogging.

Overall, it's a good workout earphone that stays snug. Just make sure you put on the fittings that is best for you. Seems like others had bad experiences because they didn't bother trying the other fittings.
