Where to get Headphone extension Cable?

ilovetowin

I have a shure se110 earphones - recently,my extension wire broke and I need to replace it. However, the shure website only ships to the US (I live in Canada). Does anyone know anyplace/site where I can get a small extension wire (for cheap, if possible)
Thanks!

Answer
You might want to check out RadioShack store. They might have the answer to your problem.

Speaker cables.....extensions ?

Dolly P

hey guys

you wouldnt happen to know if you can buy extension cables so you can plug 4speakers into a cd player even when the cd player only has enough connections for two speakers

That may be complicated to understand but if you do understand and there is such a thing wat is it called and where can i get some

cheers

Answer
You mean "Headphones" or a CD player with the 1/8 inch headphone plug? Radio shack has splitters for this. Make sure to get the Stereo Y adapter.

Generally - you cannot hook speakers directly up to a CD player unless the speakers are self-powered like they make for computer systems.

My 6 year old daughter wants an Mp3 player for X-mas. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Lisa

She wants it for Christmas and I just don't know which one to get. I don't want to get something to expensive because she is only six. Headphones make a big deal too, because she doesn't work very well with the one's that fit inside your ears.

Answer
You certainly don't want to get her a fancy, expensive player as she's only 6, but there are a couple of kid-friendly mp3 players that I have heard good things about, and they're quite affordable. The SanDisk Sansa Shaker is one that gets very good reviews. Amazon has it in pink and blue with a 1gb memory card for $29.99. It has a built in speaker as well as two headphone connections, and uses a replaceable AAA battery. The Disney Mix Sticks also get good reviews as kids players. Toys r Us has a couple of different models for about $40 on their site. Most players seem to come with really uncomfortable earbuds, but you can buy a really cheap pair of headphones in whatever style you prefer to go with any of these players. Hope that helps.

What should I get my 6 year old sister?

Talore Rob

I am going Christmas shopping later, and I was wondering if you guys have any ideas. She likes trains, drawing, coloring, and most things 6 year old girls like. Do you also have ideas for a 13 year old girl? She likes art stuff and supernatural. My price range is 5-15 dollars for each of them. Thanks you guys.

Answer
For the six year old, go with a coloring book. You cant really go wrong if she likes to color. For a 13 year old, my headphones, is she has something for them to be used with. Otherwise, everybody likes candy :)

Is This a good Koss Headphone? 10 pts BEST ANSWER!!?

I know i already asked this but i think I put it at the wrong section.

Ok. So my Skullcandy Ink'd broke like in a month and i heard that Skullcandy Don't last long and i heard about Koss that have a good sound quality and last longer than Skullcandy. And so, is this a good Koss Headphone

Helen, what website are u talking about

Answer
Those headphones are OK, it depends on how you use them if they are connected to an I-pod and you travel with them and lank on the wire they are not going to last that long, but if you take care of them and don't abuse them they will last longer, usually headphones that can take more abuse are called "Studio Monitors"

if you cant see the pictures please tell me what to look for when buying headphones.

Answer
i would say the sony but many people would probably disagree cause everyone thinks skullcandy headphones are "AMAZING".. or everyone that i have talked to.. but i dont think they are that great it might be different for me cause i have bose but i think they are like a cheap version of bose and they dont sound good but on the other hand ihave never listened to music on the sony headphones, but im assuming that they would be better than the skullcandy buds because they cover the whole ear, and your choice also depends on if you want big bulky headphones or small ear buds.. these skullcandy earbuds do look different than the ones at target or something but they look nicer.. but i would go with the sony ones just because i have listened to skullcandy and i wasnt impressed.. if you wanted something else for about the same price, i would say get the bose ones they are only about $5 more than the sony ones AND the bose comes with a one year warranty so if anything happens to them within a year, then you can replace them.. i was constantly putting them in my pockets and throwing them around like on my bed and stuff and the wires started to break so i contacted bose and i sent them in and within a couple days i had a brand new pair of the same headphones.. so i would say the bose ones.. but if youre set on one of the ones you said, then i would say sony.. hope i helped

Wearing headphones when running on the treadmill?

arsenal su

I bought some Sennheisers recently and they have beautiful sound and I want to listen to it while running on the treadmill. Would it be weird or douchey to do this? Opinions?

Here's what they look like
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD428-Closed-Circumaural-Headphone/dp/B002DGTGNG

Answer
I am not a runner, more like a walker. I just got a Philips SHQ4000/28 Neckband Headphones. They
stay well inside in my ear, the neckband is sturdy and shaped well. That was what I needed. Not sure if that was what you were looking for.

What are the best over the top headphones?

sportfan32

I was thinking about getting a pair of Beats by Dre Solo HD headphones. Would you recommend these? I listen to mainly Hip Hop because I run and work out a lot.

Please list any others that you think are good quality and stylish.

Answer
As an avid runner and headphone active use wearer... I would skip over the head style. The headband on most headphones is not secure enough to withstand the jarring of running and they constantly get in the way while laying down. Any over-the head headphone that is secure enough to hang on during a workout is going to be applying so much pressure to your ears that it would be intollerable...it's just not a good design for active use. As for your specific choice, they fit your demand of headphones good for hip-hop, but would not meet your workout demands.

I would also take into consideration that during a workout the advantages of better sound are often lost because you are concerned more with gasping for air and how bad the buning in your arm is after that extra curl. I guess my point is, you are better off going with a headphone an inexpensive headphone that is made for the vigors of working out (secure fit, and durable) and that can pump mout the bass just to make the music more fun.

Custom Headphone Designs?

Q. I am a small time DJ and have been looking for a place or site that will let me put my logo on the actual "headphone" part as well as my DJ name on the interior part of the band. So far I've had no luck. Any suggestions of sites or places in Toronto or Ottawa I could try?

Answer
What method do you want it decorated?
Most companies which make headphones aren't going to bother with custom decorating. The market for such things most likely wouldn't pay the salary of one guy doing this full time.

If you're looking for something embossed, you need to consider the cost of making an injection mold for such a limited run. There are a few sites on the net that will custom make plastic parts for you, which could then be used to replace the factory ones, but unless you have experience in the design software, this would also cost quite a bit to hire. You also get into a tricky situation when you're making parts which might well be patented.

If you're merely looking to have it painted, I suggest trying the local art college, if you don't have the skills to reproduce your logo yourself. Keep in mind that you pay more when you demand specific results. Artists are often cheaper than artisans, as artisans are trying to make a living off such things.

I can think of a dozen different ways to customize headphones, but all require you finding someone willing to do custom work, at a price you can afford. Or they require you spending thirty bucks at a hobby lobby and learning a new skill.

Good headphones for my needs?

Q. I want them with great noise canceling, deep bass, and wireless, preferably a cup over the ear design. Any headphones like this for around $200?

Answer
Hey, WackaflockagotshoTa

There is a wide selection of headphones that are available on the market at the moment, and for the most part, the quality of the sound and craftmanship will depend on the price range you are willing to spend. In the lower price range (less than $50), you should be able to find some pretty good headphones that will be perfect for somebody that is just aiming to listen to music on their iPod or computer, and are not full-on audiophiles. Once you get to the medium price range ($50-150), you will get a good selection of amazing quality headphones that are going to be perfect for nearly everyone that is not involved with music professionally. The quality of these headphones are going to be suberb, should cancel out nearly all background noise, and are going to be of a quality craftmanship that is going to last for a very long time. On the expensive side of things ($150 and up), you are going to find professional quality sets. For most people this is going to be complete overkill as they provide a quality of sound that is unmatched, but is usually only sought after by professionals working on their own music (or the kinds of consumers who make sure that their house is hooked up with the best speaker systems on the market).

Depending on the amount you are willing to spend, my top five recommendations (from cheapest to most expensive) would have to be:

Sennheiser HD 202 II Professional

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/sennheiser-hd-202-ii-professional/

This model provides good insulation against background noise and has a solid bass range and response time. Perfect for somebody looking for an affordable set of quality headphones.

Sennheiser RS120

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/sennheiser-rs120/

These are very affordable for wireless headphones. They have an open-ear system with a strong bass response. Since they are wireless, you don't even have to be in the same room as the device that is transmitting the sound, giving you ultimate flexibility while listening to music. Very lightweight and a high quality. I have this set for using around my house.

Sennheiser HD280 Professional

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/sennheiser-hd-280-pro/

Here we are well into the midrange quality headphones. These ones are corded, but provides a much better sound quality than the RS120. They provide up to 32 dB attenuation of outside noise, so you don't need to worry about much from background noise, even in somewhat noisy environments.

Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/beats-by-dr-dre-solo-hd/

These are on the high-end of the spectrum of headphones. They are very comfortable and can produce a top-notched sound quality. If you're looking for something that is "in-style" and provides some of the best sound quality you can find at this price range, then these are the headphones for you.

Bose Quietcomfort 15

http://headphones.respectablereviews.com/bose-quietcomfort-15/

I use these when I'm playing live venues. They are some of the best headphones you can buy at the moment, are very comfortable when wearing for many hours at a time (even in hot, sweaty clubs), block out almost all background noise and provide nearly unmatched sound quality. For somebody looking for professional quality headphones, or with a big budget looking for the best money can buy, then these are the headphones for you.

Overall, the most important thing for choosing the headphones, is the think about what you will be using them for and don't over estimate how much headphone-power you actually need. If you're looking for something to use to and from school or just while you're hanging out, listening to music, you probably don't need top of the line Bose. Good luck, WackaflockagotshoTa, and I hope you find the perfect set!

sound problem in my new headphones?

Q. well, I just bought a new headphone yesterday, when I tested it at home, I found out this headphone has problems with low quality sounds with low bitrate, when I play a low quality video clip, or song, the sound is terrible, really low volume, even if I put it on max volume, it is too low, or some instruments in that music fades and I cannot hear them...
but has no problem with high quality songs, for example 320 bitrate...
so what is the problem?? Is the problem about headphone itself or...????
pleaaase help...

Answer
It can't possibly be a headphone problem - your headphones have no idea what bitrate your songs are.

With bad headphones, it doesn't really matter whether your files are high- or low-quality, since the headphones will turn everything into mush anyway. Better headphones, however, will be more revealing of problems in your source files. You'll actually get to hear the difference between high bitrate and low bitrate.

The solution is not to use low-quality files... Storage space is so cheap these days that anything less than 320kbps doesn't make sense. You might even want to try lossless...

A good bass-y song to test my headphones?

matthew G

I just bought myself the "Sony Walkman - NWZ-S544" along with "Sennheiser CX 300-II" in ear-headphones. They are made for people who love bass, and I wanted to test them to see there limits. Can someone name some songs that are HEAVY on the bass... I have already tried "The Great Destroyer - by Nine Inch Nails" but want something even heavier than that. I don't care about style because this is primarily for the bass testing

Answer
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy - it's awesome.

wireless headphones for a television?

Q. My grandads friend has got some wireless headphones for the tv, but when he uses them the other people in the room can still hear the tv normally from its speakers. His friend cant remember where he bought them from, has anyone ever heard of these, and if so what are they called and any links to a website where they can be bought please?

Answer
quite a few wireless headphones are made by sony, sennheisher

they normally get hooked up to the tv's headphone jack (which would turn off the tv speakers)

or get hooked up to the tv's audio out jacks if it has them (tv speakers will still play)

if you use cable box or sat you can hook up the headphones to the boxes analog audio out if they are not being used to connect to the tv but you will still be able to hear sound from the tv speakers

it is preferable to get rf wireless type headphones because you will not need line of sight with the transmitter

Wireless Headphones!!! Help!?

curely cuz

I want to be able to play music, listen to podcasts etc but without all the wires. Basically I want to be able to use wireless Headphones with my computer is this possible. As well as that I do have some music equipment such as a mixer if that helps.

Answer
This is absolutely possible. Nowadays there are quite a few wireless headphones that offer good audio along with the convenience of being wireless. What's your budget? There are some low price entry-level wireless headphones out there, but the more you're willing to invest the better you're going to get in terms of a strong signal, lack of interference and high quality sound. Depending on your exact needs you can choose between infrared wireless headphones--which are rechargeable and have little to no interference when in the room with the transmitter but have a short range--and radio frequency headphones--which have the longest range but are prone to interference from any electronics on the same radio frequency. It would be easier to give you a specific recommendation if you explained a bit more about your situation. Do you plan to stay in one room while using your headphones or move around a lot? What's your budget?

will headphones work on monitor?

Q. I'm going to buy a benq monitor, it will be only used for gaming with my xbox. I was wondering if i plug in my xbox to my monitor with an hdmi if I can plug in a standard headset into the jack of the monitor and be able to hear the xbox sound out of it?

Answer
If the monitor has a headphone jack on it then yes.

Most TV's tend to have headphone jacks, although don't tend to see it on a monitor. Although now TV's do HD your better buying a full 1080P HDTV and using that as a monitor rather than a dedicated monitor.

Hooking up headphones to monitor with PS3?

lebo

I recently bought a PS3 and hooked it up to my HP 2509m monitor. I would like to be able to listen to my games with a headphone, so I don't annoy the people who live across the walls. Anyway, I tried plugging a headphone into the headphone jack of the monitor, but the PS3 doesn't seem to recognize that there's a headphone plugged in and keeps sending sound to the monitor speakers. I looked on the settings monitor and they don't have anything to say about this; I'm not sure if there's a PS3 setting to use or not. Any suggestions?

Answer
That audio jack on your HP 2509m monitor is an input, for receiving an analog audio signal from a computer sound card to play over the monitor's speakers. It is NOT for hooking up to headphones.

If you want the PS3's sound to come out of other sources rather than the 2509m's speakers, then you will need to connect headphones or speakers directly to the PS3's analog multiport audio output or the digital optical audio output.

Hope this helps.

Would this headphone guitar amp / laptop DAC combo work?

Q. I'm a college student living in a dorm with a roommate, so I try to keep everything audio related going through my headphones, as not to disturb my roommate or neighbors. Right now, I'm trying to make this setup, and want to know if the equipment will be adequate for my needs:

I want to get a DAC / headphone amp combo that I can use both to increase the audio output on my laptop, and to amplify my electric guitar for when I'm practicing in my dorm room. The unit I'm looking at is the FiiO E7, which seems like an excellent DAC for a pretty low price. I know that it will more than suffice for playing music through my headphones with my laptop as a source, but want to make sure it will adequately recognize and amplify my electric guitar, if plugged in to the analog audio-in jack.

I'm buying all the appropriate adapters (1/4inch to 3.5mm for plugging the guitar into the headphone amp), but just wanted to make sure that I don't need some other sort of preamp or anything to get decent audio through the headphones for BOTH the guitar and my laptop (individually, not at the same time).

Any insight at all will be immensely appreciated.

Answer
The audio output level of a guitar is in-between that of mic and line level, so you will have to crank the FiiO E7 higher when using the guitar (vs. a line-level analog source such as an MP3 player, or the DAC source from your laptop) but it should still work.

If you can't crank the FiiO up high enough, Korg/Vox makes a $40 "amPlug" device designed exactly to do what you want -- to adapt your guitar for headphones (see below).

how to amplify home theater headphones?

Q. I just bought a Sony "MDR-DS7500" Home Theater Headphone system that I would like to amplify for the sound that it produces right now out of the box turned all the way up on the knob has poor low volume and I would like to change that. If any knows how to go about this and any way I am all ear and would very much appreciate it. Thank You!

Answer
Headphones can be amplified by headphone amps. Fiio is extremely popular for their affordable models, but don't get me wrong, they have some good quality models as well, check out the e9 for example. Turtle Beach has a good DAC called Earforce DSS, it amplifies audio and has bass boost as well as Dolby Digital processing.

What are the best DJ headphones for under $50?

Q. I was looking at these:

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11038345

but these seem nice as well, even though they are earbuds:
http://www.v-moda.com/collection/modaphones/bass%20freq.aspx

I just need good headphones for my DJ work. I am sick of using my bass-less headphones (Sony Psyc).

Answer
Based on my personal experience I would go with these headphones that are designed for DJ use, in this particular order according to best sound:

1. Technics RP-F550 $34.99
2. American Audio HP-500 $49.99
3. Gemini DJ DJX-05 $39.95
4. Behringer HPX-4000 $34.99
5. Stanton DJ PRO-60 $39.95
6. Behringer HPX-2000 $19.99

I find the HPX-2000 at $19.99, to be the best overall budget DJ headphones that still dish out pretty good bass and decently defined sound. However on my opinion, at the below $50 price range, the RP-F550, has the best sound. Technics also makes the best DJ turntables known to man.

Due to the rather extreme conditions that we DJ's must sometimes work in, like a hot and humid club, a constantly dark environment, things like sweat, frequent dropping, accidentally disconnecting and stepping on the headphones or headphone cord shortens the lifespan of even the most expensive DJ headphones. At $19.99 these HPX-2000s are a nice, affordable and easily replaced DJ staple for me.

Also, I advise against getting any headphones that have the word "studio" unless you will be using it in a recording studio capacity. Studio headphones are designed to give an unenhanced accurate sound reproduction of recordings for studio monitoring purposes. However Dj headphones are the complete opposite, and enhance the audio especially bass frequencies, so that any music you hear will sound like it's on steroids. So be forewarned that the Sony MDR-XD200 is a studio monitor headphone.

headphones under $50?

fl_state_o

what are a good pair of headphones under $50? (if you could include brand model price and where to purchase) I'm in the market for earbuds and over the ear kind needs to be ipod/iphone 3gs compatible w/ a mic would be cool too not a must have though.

Answer
The Monster Jamz Headphones have basically been designed to address the economy range of the headphone market, and if you simply want the best then you can explore their gold or copper series of In-Ear Speakers. However, for the price, these headphones do provide a really tight bass along with distortion-free mid-range and highs. The bass is such that your head does not feel that it will explode while the mids and highs complement the overall sound in a slightly mild-mannered but really clear way. The sound emancipating from these headphones provides decent depth without sounding flat or harsh. However, although you will receive multiple sized ear-tips that are quite comfortable, you will need to improvise in case the ear-tips do not fit comfortably in your ears or do not manage to seal outside sound in an efficient manner.

Monster vs Bose: Workout Headphone?

Nate P

I don't care about your opinion of not getting either one. So feel free to not share.

The question is which one is the better choice for IN EAR, WORK OUT HEADPHONE. The Bose IE2 or the iSport. Both are 99 dollars. Please answer constructively. Thanks.
I should have added this. I work out 6 times a week, anywhere from 1-3 hours a day. I lift, run, play sports, and swim. I currently have the Monster Beats by Dre (the 200 dollar pair) but I want something more subtle, closer to my head, more free movement.

Answer
NEITHER. Bose is GROSSLY overrated and overpriced (those who thinbk they are okay are NOT real audiophiles!), and Monster is MERELY a fashion accessory masked as "audio equipment".

Instead, go for QUALITY brands such as Sennheiser.

I wish I knew where to find new ones, mine broke several yeas ago. I liked them because they stayed on, were small and didn't have pads that got soaked with sweat.

Questions about Bluetooth (headphones)?

Q. Can other people connect to my Bluetooth headphones?

Does sound quality suffer at all because it's wirelessly transmitted?

In your opinion are they worth it?

Do they last longer than wired headphones? (hardware and kinda software/deterioration)

Could I use it with my PC (Windows 8, integrated sound card and wireless card)

Could I use it with my Nokia Lumia 800? (it has Bluetooth in options, but various sites say various things)

Thanks a million!

~ Sam

Answer
A lot of questions...i'll have a go at answering them for you...

Can other people connect to your 'bluetooth headphones'..?
You pair your headphones with the device that you want to listen to...so anyone else that pairs their headphones to the device might be able to listen...not just anybody can listen though when you pair with a device it is like giving permission.

Does sound quality Suffer..?
Yes...although...It isn't really that bad, I personally use the Sony MW600 wireless device with a set of Sennheiser HD25 cans and the sound is pretty good...(very good actually)...the MW600 lets you plug any headphone into it (wired headphone) and turns them into 'wireless headphones'...it isn't that expensive.

Are they worth it..?
It is the same with anything...how much do you value 'wireless'...it is worth it...if you use it...if you have doubts - the Sony MW600 is a good option, it gives you 'wireless' when you want it...if you don't need 'wireless' then just use your headphones normally...into the bargain because it isn't built into a 'headphone' you can pair it with your most comfortable and favourite headphones...you don't get that choice with dedicated 'wireless' headphones.

Do they last longer than wired headphones..?
No...built in rechargeable batteries have a 'lifetime expectancy' and the battery will need to be replaced at some point...it might be more cost-effective just to replace the headphones altogether...and like anything else...you do have to take care of them, listen to your music at sensible levels and pop them into a decent case if you intend to carry them about.

Can you use them with Windows 8..?
There is a problem here...I use my MW600 with Windows 7 and it works perfectly..(brilliantly)...with my Windows 8 some 'bluetooth' devices 'lag' or have a 'delay'...and it doesn't allow you to enjoy your videos or movies as much...the 'delay' - you see the action and then your ears hear it maybe a second or two after you see it...it's weird and I can't handle it...you can listen to music files, no problem though or radio stations...lag is only encountered on 'video'...If you buy from Amazon you could try the product and then return them if you experience the delay.

Can you use it with your Nokia Lumia 800..?
I honestly can't think of any reason why not...so i'd say yes.

a good pair of bluetooth headphones?

Q. what is the best pair of bluetooth headphones i can get for less than $150, they will be used mainly for listening to music, thank you

Answer
Believe me when i say this, DON"T!!!!!! i've bought a few bluetooth headphones before and they were all horrible. The main problem i have with them is that they work perfectly fine when you're sitting down and not moving, but the moment you turn your head or walk around the connection drops or it starts to get choppy. This isn't to knock on the manufacturers, the problem lies with the Bluetooth technology which limits the power of the radio to a little more than a maximum distance of a meter. So if you include the signal passing through your body and cloths, you effectively cut the maximum operating range in half. Operating at maximum range is like trying to watch tv with bunny ears antenna when you are on the fringe of a tv tower, most of the picture is static. You would be much better off getting a decent pair of headphones for that budget
* Highly recommend bose over ear noise canceling headphones ~$150

Headphones recommendation?

I need headphones...I want a quality pair BUT I don't want to pay more than $100, what would you recommend?

Answer
Please do not get apple in ear headphones. They are trash compared to the Klipsch S4's. I personally own a set of the higher end Klipsch Custom 3's which retail for $300 and Bose Qc3's which retail for $350. I am extremely knowledgeable when it comes to audio equipment. I have personally tried the Klipsch S4's out and for their price ($79 at Best Buy) they can't be beat. Here is a review from Cnet. Hope I could help you out!

Need Some New Headphones.?

Russell...

Im Willing to spend about 100 to 130 pounds on some Headphones,
i want them to look alright when im walking around town, so nothing hugely bulky.
I listen to a lot of "house and dubstep" so something which has a fair bit of bass.
also preferably something which i can isolate myself with when im on the bus or in collage.

:) Thanks.
Want specific Headphones, not just some link to a website...

Answer
Check at wal-mart, Office Depot, and bust buy. Also check at Radio Shack.

Sennheiser HD595 Headphone problem.?

Q. Hello. i had these for quite a long time. But about 2 or 3 years ago an accident happened and the wire's disconnected. I have no idea how to fix them, all i want to know is if it is fixable. How would i know between fixable and broken completely. the left ear cup does work. i plugged it in and it's all fine. is that a good sign?
Thank you.

Answer
Well, cause I'm on Yahoo answers...I can't fix them for you. But you are saying the cable on the left side disconnected? If the left channel works, it means that the right channel has been damaged; the copper the unit for the right channel has been slightly torn or tugged at. For this you need to open them up.

It should look like this. Just open them up and check.

Q. I live in San Diego, area code 92113, and I was wondering where I could buy headphones for mobile nearby for cheap? Or a headphone adapter that converts regular headphones into ones with a smaller jack. Thanks! :)

What is the difference in driver size on headphones?

fhsorlando

Like 30mm 40mm and 50mm

Does the higher the number actually mean the better the headphones will be? Thanks.

Answer
No, driver size means nothing in terms of sound quality. I have in-ear-monitors with tiny drivers that sound better than massive headphones with huge drivers. In theory, all other things being equal, bigger drivers should be capable of producing more/lower bass. All other things are rarely equal though. Headphone companies sometimes stress the size of their drivers because there is a common belief that bigger is better. In reality, the only way to judge sound quality is to listen to the headphones.

Headphone burn-in questions.?

tehwinzorz

So I just got new, high quality headphones. After a couple days of use, I noticed the notice saying I should burn them in for 24 hours.

- Is anything bad going to happen because I didn't start burning them as soon as I got it?

- Should I take breaks every once in awhile or go straight through it. If I do take breaks, how often should they be? I was planning on starting before I went to sleep, then going to school, and coming home and taking them off after the 24 hours.

- If I burn them to one devise, will it sound weird on everything else?

Answer
You didn't do any harm by not allowing them to burn in. The burn in would have happened naturally as you listened to them. I'm guessing the notice is there so you hear the headphones when they sound their best.

Going for 24 hours straight is fine. Just make sure to set the volume at a comfortable listening level. Do NOT crank up the music so it happens faster.

No, it won't sound weird when used with other devices.

Proper way to burn in new headphones?

Q. I wanna start off by saying I know this is a controversial subject and not everyone agrees that "burning in" headphones is actually a real thing. So I don't want any arguments or negative comments please. Just advice.

So I just bought the Audio Technica ATH-M50's off Amazon because of all the rave reviews it has gotten. I'm not a headphones expert or anything. I just bought them cause I wanna listen to my music in high quality and less than $200.

Out of the box I was disappointed with the sound. It sounded bland, the music sounded muffled and below average. I thought I just wasted $150, but I heard you need to "burn in" new headphones to get the full quality. I really hope this is the case.

So my questions are: what's the best way to burn in new headphones? Pink noise? White noise? Put my music on shuffle? How long should I burn them and should it be a continuous burn in without breaks? Volume level?

Answer
I recently purchased the Sony MDR V55DJ headphone after trying it out in store against some other headphones...when I got my nicely packaged headphones out the box and tried them on...they didn't sound anything like the ones on 'display' that I tried out...after a few days of normal use...the sound improved and I haven't had them off my head much since...I use headphones for listening to sounds on my iPod, laptop and watching movies and TV so they get a fair amount of use.

The Audio Technica cans are reference headphones, and i'll be buying a set just to add to my collection, I seriously would 'burn them in', they are a classic headphone...all the great reviews on Amazon and 'You Tube' can't be wrong...it might be worth buying a headphone amplifier to give your headphones a 'boost' - try them first on a separates Hi-Fi system and see how they perform before buying anything else or sending them back...

Hope it works out for you...Good Luck..!

How can i use my ipod headphones for...?

i wanna plug my ipod headphones(with a mic attached) in to my computer some how and use it as a mic and add narration into windows movie maker. how do i do that? explain in detail so i can understand how to do this.

Answer
iPod headphones are made for the iPod only - to record sound using a computer you must have a jack or usb microphone which plugs into a separate slot to the iPod connector, which plugs only into the headphone port.

Ipod headphones help?

Q. i have a jailbroken ipod touch and whenever i listen to music only one headphone works, i've tried different headphones and it still does it. Im wonderin of its a 3rd party app or is it my ipod. Is there a way to fix it?

Answer
if you have tried several headphones, and it still doesn't work, then your iPod headphone jack is broken. i recommend buying a jack off of ebay for $20 including shipping/jack/tools to install.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM HONG KONG! I had to replace mine and it broke again a couple of months later..

it's also much cheaper than sending it to apple. i couldn't find a guide for the iPod touch but i attached a guide for a 5th generation iPod video, so this should lead you in the right direction. if i were you, i'd get one of my friends who's a tech-junkie to do it.

if you still don't feel safe about it, or don't trust my advice. go to an apple store and let them examine it. i bet they'll tell you they have to ship it away and you'll have to pay some outrageous price for it.

hope this helps!

Using iPhone headphones with ps3?

Q. Well I know there's a way to do this and hear game audio but is there a way to do this and talk with the Microphone on the headphones?

Answer
No, headphones won't do that for two reasons:

1. The PS3 has no headphone jack to plug the headphones into.
2. Sony designed the PS3 to use wireless Bluetooth headsets, or USB headsets.

Your thinking of a Bluetooth headset, but simply misunderstood it for headphones (which is no big deal). The only thing that will do what you want with a PS3 are one of those two things. Get the Official Bluetooth Headset from Sony for the PS3 though. It was specifically designed for the PS3, and it's also universal (meaning you can use it for more than just your PS3). Make sure the headset is version 2.0 if you decide to go with another brand of Bluetooth headset though, or it won't be compatible with the PS3.

Hope that helps.
