Is Sennheiser HD555 Professional Headphones better than beats studio overear by dre?

l

dre costs about 300 dollars and I want to know which is better in terms of sound quality and noise cancellation.. I dont really care about the looks, but Im pretty picky about the sound quality. I found a good price for the HD555 which is about 125 dollars.

Answer
These Sennheiser 555s are indeed audiophile grade headphones. However, to me the bass on these headphones slightly overshadowes the rest of the sound spectrum. In other words, for my taste the bass is a bit too heavy. Although not muddy, the lower mid bass was at a level that I would ordinarily want it when drunk listening to Fleetwood Mac at full volume but not ideal for everyday listening. The bass is on the 555s is apparently optimized for young adults and others who ordinarily like their bass nice and extra heavy. The rest of the spectrum is beautiful.

These headphones are worth every penny.

Shure Professional Headphone or Monster Beats?

hollywoods

Shure Professional Headphone (SRH840) or monster beats studio? All I'm wondering about is what sound quality is better, or are they both equal? Also for Monster, is the solos sound quality the same as the studios? Thanks!

Answer
the Sure SRH840's are a pro monitoring headphone meaning they'll produce a more "true" sound than the Beats. this can be a great, great thing or very bad depending on the quality of the music you're playing through them.... you'd be surprised sometimes. Beats are considerably more expensive and have mad driving bass. if you're into that then go for it but i think when you're spending this kind of money you should try to personally test each headphone and make a decision based on your own opinions.
also, Beats require batteries so take that into consideration.
