Gaming headphones for music?

Initial D

I was looking for some good headphones for a decent price and I found someone selling a pair of SENNHEISER 3d g4me. I was wondering if these would be good headphones for music I don't really care about games. They also have 7.1 surround. Also they are $50 is this a good price?

Answer
Headsets are generally not recommended for music because the audio quality is usually pretty poor. There are very very few excepts to this rule, but the pair you pointed out isn't one of them. Before anyone can recommend a pair of headphone, you need to specify the kind of music you listen to because in your price range most headphones offer pretty different sound and no one headphone is good for all music genres.

Which Headphones is better for gaming and music?

I'm thinking of buying either the Audio Technica ATH M50 ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZG9TMA/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000ULAP4U&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1PM4502AY47P4920H7A0) or the Audio Technica ATH AD700 ( http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-AD700-Open-air-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B000CMS0XU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top ), and I was just wondering which would be better for gaming as well as music (preferably from someone who has used both for gaming and music). The ATH M50 has excellent reviews and is a great deal for the money, but some reviews and sites say the "sound stage" is not that great, making it not a good choice for gaming, is this true, or is it still good for gaming? I will be using it to soundwhore in CoD and play a variety of other games as well.
I'm looking for a pair of headphones that I can use to listen to music with as well, so I don't want a headset with a mic. Also I would like the headphones to be less than $150.

Answer
Audio-Technica ATH-M30 Professional Headphones is far to be easy. The typical sound of those is boomy, with strange reverberation effects and a poor sound. The ATH-M30 provide a warm sound, with a solid bass (sometimes a bit undefined), a smooth midrange and a correct trebble. The feeling is perhaps not the "outstanding clarity" advertised but rather a relaxing sound, with a good balance between details and fun. Compared to the sennheiser HD212, the trebble is a bit lacking but, at least, the bass doesn't kill the midrange.
