Audio Computer Cables DIY?

LaDii3 j0k

Okay so i have a monitor with built in speakers the problem is i dont have the audio cables to connect the monitor to the tower. I was wondering if theres anyway to make your own, either with two headphone or a digital audio cable? Or anything else?

Answer
Sure. Cut your headphone cables as long as possible, then strip the insulation. If you are
lucky you'll have plastic insulation in all of the wires. Leave like 1/4" exposed copper in the
inner wire, and just twist them together. Put some electrical tape and now connect the shielding
(that's the mesh like outer wires). Put a little more tape, repeat for the other channel and you are
done. Also if your computer has HDMI output and your monitor will take HDMI cables, you
don't need an audio cable since the sound is transmitted via the HDMI cable. Good luck!

how can i extend my headphone cable up to 5 meters?

i just wanna try increasing the length of my headphone cable to about 5 mt.
And i don't wanna use ready made extenders.

Answer
How good are you at splicing audio cable? Remember a little crap will affect performance of the cable greatly.

Either buy a set of headphones with a decent length of cable (sennnheiser) or use an extention to retain audio purity. If your worried about unplugging the extentions use either velcro or tie wraps to lock the connections together. Simply fold the cables together around the connection and tie wrap to prenent any tugging to affect the connection, instead you pull on the tie wrap/velcro strap.
