I am looking for circumaural headphones with a large frequency range that balances music (especially orchestral) nicely.

Audio-Technica ATH-AD700. Huge soundstage, very balanced. Keep in mind that they are fully open though (sound will leak in and out).

I want a new pair of headphones for Christmas, but I'm not sure what to get. I was really interested in the Pioneer SE DJ5000's until I saw that it wasn't the right kind of headphone jack. I want headphones with a wide frequency range, good audio quality, 3.5 mm jack, and that don't cost too much. NO "BEATS BY DR. DRE". Thanks!

The Audio Techinca M50s are always a solid choice for what you need. Excellent sound quality, great build design, and unmatched value. They cost less than $120 at the moment.

If you want to spend a bit less, I would recommend a pair of Good ol Sony V6s. These let you hear every last detail of your music, and are among the most reliable headphones you can buy. ( They typically last 7-8 years before the ear cups go out. Pop another set on for about $15 and get another 8 years. ) They cost less than $70 right now.

They cannot be used in public because they leak a LOT of sound, but are the best sounding pair you can get with your money. Don't get these if you have a small head, they are quite big. They cost about $105.
