Where can i find Dr Dre headphones for cheap?

Loading...

I'm looking for some Beats by Dre pro headphones. I only want to spend 50-200 dollars on them. I need a place to buy legit Dre's and not fake or counterfeits.

Answer
there are much better headphones out there than dr dre's, depending on the kind of music you listen to. If you love bass-heavy, articulated music (rap and hip hop mostly) then the Dre's are alright, but they have an incredibly muddy bass (makes the bass seem heavier, but less articulated), otherwise you should look at some of the following, especially considering your price range:

these are over-ear headphones (full sized)
Bose OE's
My review: Very good mid-ranges and trebles (higher singing sounds), bass is a little muddy, they don't look as great as the Dr Dre's but they're really legit. They're noise canceling (to an extent) and for on-ear (rather than over-ear cup-shaped headphones) they're really comfortable. they're very portable, and best for indie/alt rock, rock, pop, but there are better options for rap, hip hop and other bass heavy genres.

Marshall Majors
Indie in style, these are very, very good for the price. I've only known of one pair to break, and they hold their own in any genre of music. They do get somewhat uncomfortable after wearing them for a while, but they do a good job at canceling outside noises and keeping your own music in.

now if you're willing to spend $200 on headphones, you cannot, CANNOT possibly ever ever never please dont ever buy the Dre's over these. these are possibly the best headphones i've ever been blessed to try out for a while.
they're called the AIAIAI TMA1 DJ Headphones. They look amazing and professional, they hold up against anything, the sound quality is amazing -- please, if anyone buys the Dre's over these they're absolutely stupid. They're extremely comfortable and light, but sturdy. The cups block out most outside noise and keep your own noise contained. The bass is clean and crisp, while the mids and highs are bright and very articulated. They were made for DJ's but I dont know a single non-DJ who wouldn't be amazed by these. they are pricey, but they're worth it.

as for In-Ear headphones (buds, etc) here's some good ones:
Klipsch Image S4's
these are on the cheaper end of things, and you may be able to tell (somewhat) with the quality of the cord. If you have oddly shaped ears, the bud that they come with may not fit very well. These are definitely some you want to go on-site to buy, that way you can try them on or at least look them over. The sound is unbeatable. Even the bass is damn good, which is impressive for buds. the mids are really nice and everything lines up well in terms of the sound. Like most in-ear headphones, they block outside sound very, very well, and for $50-$80, they're extremely impressive.

I was going to post some more in-ear headphones, but out of all the ones i've tried out these were the best. They beat the in-ear Dre's by a mile, in terms of sound and design.

hopefully i've swayed another Dr Dre customer, but just in case i havent...

here's the Beats Solo on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Beats-Solo-Headphones-ControlTalk-Black/dp/B002P8LZ36/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1321921145&sr=1-5

those are really the only ones under $200
mind you that Dr Dre Beats has a contract with every single seller. The distributors are not allowed to sell these products under a certain mark, so counterfeits are unavoidable if you want some of the more expensive models. you should also look for "refurbished" models -- this means that the headphones had a defect and were sent back to the company and replaced by a new pair by the original owner. If anything, buying refurbished is better -- your headphones get checked by a technician twice, rather than once. You get them for cheaper, and there's absolutely no difference between your set and the brand-new set other than the price and how many times they've been sold.
(legally, the company must sell them for less because they have been returned, ergo they are "used" when really the defects are usually like "the headphone jack was detached from the cable when i bought it")

good luck!!

Is there such a thing as wireless headphones?
