Answer
You could look into 'Acoustic Engineering'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Engineering
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Engineering_Acoustics
Here are a variety of colleges offering degrees --

Samples --

http://www.berklee.edu/careers/mpe.html
http://www.salford.ac.uk/pgt-courses/audio-acoustics
Though, you'll need to see if they offer the proper sub-discipline associated with headphone engineering.

Are the ipod and zune outlets the same size?
Channy
my friend has an ipod, and i have a zune 30g, she has ipod speakers that hook up to the outlet(not the headphone jack, i forgot what its called) and it looks like the same size as the one on my zune, can it work for zune, i don't wanna force it in there and break it...?
Answer
I'm sure it won't fit. I have an Ipod and a Zune. The Zune and Ipod connectors are both different size. The Ipod connectors can only fit the ipod series + generations. And it is a bit wider than the Zune connector. I haven't come across any kind of universal dock yet that connect both. It's either a Zune or an Ipod. There are chargers that can let you connect any USB , not sure if you are looking for that. http://uk.gizmodo.com/e1146773526.jpg
If you want a dock or a connector for your zune, you might want to look for Zune accessories instead. Don't worry, the Ipod USB connector cannot fit even if you force it.
