I want to know what the best gaming headphones are for the ps3 and can u use them to listen to music on your iPhone?

i agree with pretty much everything in that post.
quick points:
-get a headphone with a large "soundstage" (read reviews!)
-headsets in general are bad, you're better off with a good headphone+clip on mic
-since you're gaming on a console, get something like the astro mixamp to convert 5.1+ to stereo to retain all the directional cues
-as long as the headphone has a 3.5mm (1/8 inch) jack, it can be plugged into an iphone

When buying headphones, what do you look at to find out how loud it goes?

There is a technical box on headphones i see, but how do i know how loud they get and what is good or average. I also want to know if it says anything about the quality.
