sound problem in my new headphones?

sahand

well, I just bought a new headphone yesterday, when I tested it at home, I found out this headphone has problems with low quality sounds with low bitrate, when I play a low quality video clip, or song, the sound is terrible, really low volume, even if I put it on max volume, it is too low, or some instruments in that music fades and I cannot hear them...
but has no problem with high quality songs, for example 320 bitrate...
so what is the problem?? Is the problem about headphone itself or...????
pleaaase help...

Answer
It can't possibly be a headphone problem - your headphones have no idea what bitrate your songs are.

With bad headphones, it doesn't really matter whether your files are high- or low-quality, since the headphones will turn everything into mush anyway. Better headphones, however, will be more revealing of problems in your source files. You'll actually get to hear the difference between high bitrate and low bitrate.

The solution is not to use low-quality files... Storage space is so cheap these days that anything less than 320kbps doesn't make sense. You might even want to try lossless...

A good bass-y song to test my headphones?

I just bought myself the "Sony Walkman - NWZ-S544" along with "Sennheiser CX 300-II" in ear-headphones. They are made for people who love bass, and I wanted to test them to see there limits. Can someone name some songs that are HEAVY on the bass... I have already tried "The Great Destroyer - by Nine Inch Nails" but want something even heavier than that. I don't care about style because this is primarily for the bass testing

Why wont my ipod touch play music in the left headphone?

natesha g

Answer
Test with other earphones/headphones to see if they work or not.
It may be the settings in your Equalizer or the songs you've chosen are set to Mono and only work on one ear for some reason.
Mix it up a little bit.
Test with other earphones/headphones or reset your whole iPod to factory settings if you won't be harmed by losing your games, apps, pictures, music, and/or videos.

If none of those work, then your iPod touch may have problems within.
don't try to fix it yourself, have a professional or person who's knowledgeable of it, or just send it into Apple or an Apple Store.

P.S DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF if your iPod is broken.
Whether you know it or not, don't even go on Youtube to look up troubleshooting tutorials, leave it alone and wait until it's fixed!

How can I test earphone sound quality?

Daniel Gar

Is there any specific songs that test headphones for different sounds
Like acoustic, bass , treble, hi's mids lows.
In other words how "pure" the sound is, thanks

Answer
Its mostly personal preference...just like people like different types of music different headphones will appeal to different people...not everyone hears the same...some people will concentrate on the bass others a clear Midrange is what turns them on....in fact most people will concentrate on the midrange to determine the clarity of the sound...as long as the bass is there they are not as concerned with the clarity of the bass...Often times what will separate a good headphone from a poor one is the clarity of the bass, and treble, not everyone hears the same either... a lot of it has to do with comfort too... people have different shaped ears and heads so the fit and comfort of the head phone has a lot to do with weather you like the sound or not....headphones can be measured using test tones, a computer, microphone and programing for lack of distortion, but the funny thing is that the headphone with the least amount of distortion is not always the one that sounds the best.....also most people are unable to hear low levels of distortion and may even mistake IM distortion for spaciousness or a larger sound stage...and other things like that will occur usually a hot top end and exaggerated bass will appeal to people right off the bat but over time these things become fatiguing....a neutral headphone with low distortion will probably sound dull and unexciting at first but over time you will appreciate the sound as you will be able to listen for longer periods of time without fatigue....recorded live classical music is the music that is usually recorded the best with the least amount of distortion yet how many people do you know that prefer to listen to classical music? Usually you want to listen to some kind of live acoustic music guitar; flute standing bass that's been recoded well, a recording of a group that you arr familiar with and have heard in a live setting or preferably were there when the recording was made... would also be good...because you need some kind of referance point.....to determine how acurate the headphone is...any diviation form the exact live sound is distortion....

Basicly songs that have lots of bass, (apparently beats were tested on in da club by 50 cent)

Answer
Try each suggestion below, skip the ones that may seem irrelevant

Rebooting your computer or ....

Make sure the speakers are plugged into the green jack. Also make sure it securely plug in and powered (If amplified).

To Display The Volume Icon
By default, the Volume icon is not displayed when you initially installed on your system.

To enable the display of the Volume icon, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
3. Click Show volume control on the taskbar.
4. Click OK.
When you have the new desktop features enabled, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Sounds, click Speach, and then click Audio Devices.
3. Click Sounds, and then click Audio Devices.
4. Click Show volume control on the taskbar.
5. Click OK.

If that doesn't work then try this.

Go to "Start".."Control Panel"..."Internet Options"...Click the "Advanced Tab"...scroll down to multimedia and put a check mark in play sounds on websites.

Then go to "Tools"..."Manage Add ons"...and make sure everything is enabled.

Then close Internet Explorer and reopen

or

Go to Start -> Run -> and enter Services.msc
Scroll down to "Windows Audio".
Double click and change the startup type to Automatic

Or

Make sure you have the latest Java and Flash installed on your computer
