How to plug headphones into Xbox 360?

Kinda confusing but... I have a Xbox 360 (original/not slim) plugged into a Asus monitor. The monitor doesn't have a headphone jack in it, and doesn't have speakers, so I was wondering how could I get any sound out of my Xbox.

You don't enter the headphones into the actual XBOX system. Look closely at your controller. We normally play with the controller strait up, but flip it just a little bit and before you get to the pack with your batteries in it, you will find a small hole where your headphones can go. If not, then you have turned it the wrong way so try it the other way lol.

Are headphones for XBox 360 just for Live use?

My son is driving me nuts! He has the volume up all the time on his 360! The Xbox came with a head set but I think they are just for use on Live. I want just a set of headphones for him so the rest of us don't have to listen to his game. We don't have Live because our internet is too slow. I just don't want to hear his games. Does anyone have an answer for me???

Sorry, the headset is for xbox live only.

There maybe system headphones available somewhere. You should contact Microsoft xbox support or go to your local game store.

Also, if you have a receiver you should be able to plug a standard 3.5mm headphone into the receiver. Some TVs also support headphones.

Setting up headphones on my xbox?

I want to hook up my headphones to my TV so I can play xbox while my girlfriend is asleep. My TV does not have a headphone jack, but it has an "audio" jack. Plugging my headphones into this does nothing. I've tried setting up a chat headset, that doesn't work. Messed with the preferences to have all game audio coming to the headset, doesn't work. I know I can get turtle beach headphones or something else that works through a USB to the xbox itself, but I don't want to have to do that.

If you look at the back or the side of your TV, you should find lots of audio jacks try some different combinations, and it should work. Or, you could get another pair of gaming headphones.

My son wants to go LIVE and I already bought the wireless adapter and gold card. someone said i need the headphones. do i? what are they for?

depends on how hardcore your son is. Headphones can make it so you can hear footsteps in the distance or behind you so during online play no one can sneak up on you. it also depends on what he'll be playing.
You do NOT need headphones to play tho. the Xbox 360 console should also come with and Headset that you can hear people and talk to people with. The one that comes with the xbox will not have any game sound coming out of it though.
