Hello

I only listen to rap/hip-hop music and sometimes rock (primarily Disturbed).
Can someone recommend a pair of headphones with a great bass when listening to rap and/or rock?
The price range should be around 2-300 US dollars.

Thanks!

Is there a decent home audio system I can buy for 150-300 dollars?

Zeriath C

I will be using it with my PlayStation 3 and 42 inch television. Any suggestions or recommendations? I don't care too much about surround sound, and would prefer a 2.1 system. Unless of course the 5.1 is better within the price range. Thank you!

Answer
There's to many out there and sometimes the price is way to high. If your look to just play games in surround sound, The I would look into getting the Sony 7.1 Surround Sound Headphone 99.00 I have the and there awesome.

But if your really set on getting a surround sound set, Go on ebay and shop around. Or even a good PC speaker set might be what you need.

Like not personal opinion or experience but just purely on the technical specifications of the headphones.

Answer
Nice to see someone caring about factual specifications rather than opinions.

Anyways, here we go.

The title for best over-ear headphone in terms of specs (that I know about of course) would have to be either:
The Sennheiser HD800's
or
The Grado PS1000's

The HD800's have an incredible frequency response of 6Hz-51kHz, while the PS1000's have an equally incredible response of 5Hz-50kHz. Not much of a difference there; both absolutely mind-blowing incredible! If you look at the frequency response graphs of each, you will notice that they are both very similar; very slightly boosted mids with well refined bass/trebble. However, the ps1000 response becomes a bit erratic as you move into the very high frequency range(not a huge deal). Both headphones have no audible distortion whatsoever. You will need a very powerful amplifier to power the hd800's due to their impedance of 300 ohms. The ps1000's on the other hand, could be powered through a standard mp3 player with an impedance of only 32 ohms.

Keep in mind, both of these headphones are over 1400 dollars and are very very high quality headphones. Both feature an open design to enhance acoustics.

Hope that helps.
Best of Luck

Need one in the range of 300 to 500 dollars, mainly going to be used for internet, social networking, video chat, and storing of family, friends pictures.
Thank you for your time.
