Hooking up headphones to a Radio?

Q. Ive got a conversion van with passenger headphones, how do i hook these up to my stereo radio used solely for the headphones? Headphones share the ground for left and right but radio has seperate ones. the headphones were grounded to the van's frame before but this never worked, blew up radio, how should it be done? (3rd time asking this question)
im just wondering if its healthy to hook up both grounds together and them to the headphones or if it will hurt the radio...

i can only layout the fundamentals:

headphones are the same as speakers in your car. you run a left +, right +, and a shared -. you don't use the frame as - because it introduces noise from everything else that running through the car.

note that there are two types of + on the radio, one delivers power and the other delivers the music signal you don't mix the two.

you must understand the wiring scheme of your car and correctly match it up to your stereo

Okay so my phone denies access to the Radio if I haven't got a Headphone jack in the socket, I was wondering why??

Because if I use an Auxiliary Cable from phone to PC speakers, it works?

the headphone cord becomes the antenna for the radio. The speaker cord might work, but may not be long enough or the proper termination.

Is it okay to place a wireless headphones transmitter close to a CRT computer monitor? Will it get damaged?

I have a Philips wireless headphones SHC8565/00 which I will like to use with my computer iTune music. Is it okay to place its transmitter near my CRT monitor? I have not got much space on my desk so the only option is to place it beside my monitor so to get it connected to the computer CPU tower headphone jack. So will doing so get the transmitter damaged? Any Idea or suggestion from anyone please?

don't worry. crt monitor doesn't effect on your transmitter. i give you example of TV. every television have a radio frequency receiver and CRT.
RF receiver is same as transmitter but works opposite. if these combination works well in TV. then why not a transmitter device works if we put it on the CRT monitor. thx

Like a month ago I purchased sony headphones with warranty from radio shack. Two days ago I lost my headphones while I was at school. I have warranty but do I need to have the receipt to use it?

Warranty does not protect against theft, loss, or accidental damage.

That would be insurance.

Warranty is used to cover manufacturer defects (like if one of the ears shorts out and doesn't work).

Does anyone know some really good headphones that I can buy?

Q. They sell ALOTTA headphones at Best Buy, Radio Shack, F.Y.E, etc. But I really need a pair that won't easily break or damage. Like some headphones might have only one ear piece working, because it probably got damaged. Anyone know some good ones? It should also reduce noice from the background so I can only hear my music & I wouldn't mind if they came in nice colors too.

Sony MDR-V6, while not exactly stylish, can take a world of abuse. They isolate from outside noise pretty well too.

Can you use headphones with a DVD player, but others can still hear the sound without headphones?

I have never had a DVD player before, but have a hearing problem and would like to be able to use headphones to hear the speech in movies, but still let others in the room hear the dialogue without headphones.

Most DVD players come with a digital output for surround sound, and a stereo output, usually for connecting to your TV.

So, you can leave the DVD player connected to your surround sound system with the digital connection, and then connect your head phones to the stereo output (it's the red & white ports)

If you need an adapter, go to Radio Shack. They also sell a wireless headset, which would be nice in your situation so you don't have cables dangling all over the room.

If you're already using the red/white audio cables to connect to your TV, you can get a Y-cable connector, again from Radio Shack, and then connect one set to the TV, and one to your headphone.

Radio Shack usually has these little bits and pieces at good prices, but really, any electronics store should have these things too.
