where do i find LOUD headphones?

Pogue Maho

i live in the uk and am sick of the poor volume that i get out of my headphones for my p.c. i have bought 3 sets in the last couple of months and all are rather pathetic i want very loud headphones to the extent that they almost hurt at full volume ( i know thats bad for me). i want the headphones to listen to music, where do i buy loud headphones from. any help appreciated.

Answer
DO NOT get anything by Bose. They sell over-priced, hyper-marketed crap for the money they charge. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD-560's that cost about $150 on ebay. These can get extremely loud with excellent frequency response and no distortion. They are the over-the-ear kind (not ear buds). But, I prefer them to ear buds, anyway (ear buds don't sit in my ears correctly and fall out easily).

What are the loudest headphones?

All of the headphones i buy arent loud enough do you no a brand that are loud?

Answer
Shure makes some of the best sound isolating earbuds, which is going to allow you to hear more music and less outside noise - not necessarily louder, but definitely much clearer (even in a noisy environment).

They are pretty expensive, but worth it if audio is important to you.

Also, consider connecting your headphones first to a headphone amp and then to your audio source. This won't work between you and an iPod, but works great between you and your PC. That'll definitely punch up the levels.
